GTA IV was an alright game but no where near as good as San Andreas. Let's hope that GTA V is the HD gens version of GTA III:SA.

The show was typical HHG nothing more or less. Just an outlet for his opinions and reviews of games. Although the funniest part was when he said, “This is why the 360 is showing it can last 10 years against the PS3″. The 360 has 2 more years in it and that's it, EOL in late 2010. The technology in the unit is incapable of holding on longer than that. As for Sony's last chance? LOL. Sony has been narrowing the gap of installed base year over year quite nicely. Seeing that MS has alread...

SE has ignored their most rabid supporters and in doing so potentially alienated an entire generation of gamers. Their only hope at this point is FF XIII. Star Ocean 4 is nice but will be of little consequence if FF XIII doesn't HIT like they are hoping.

LAUGHING! This is just plain funny. The iPhone with no other interface than simple motion control and a touch screen! Ooh wait virtual buttons on its' already limited screen real estate! WIN! LOL!!! What a f*ckin joke. Apple should stick to neat PCs, iPods and phones but please do not for a minute think that the iPhone will garner any serious space in handheld/portable gaming. kthxbye

The three E mantra at its' best! Embrace, Extend, Extinguish! Microsoft has been doing business this way since it started life and they know of no other way to work. They don't innovate or have any unique qualities in any of their products. They just buy something that threatens them, extend it and then by doing so extinguish its' existance.

Some examples:

Sugar CRM, Hotmail, Windows (all flavors), the bastardized BSD IP stack in their OS's, the bastardized versi...

personally I don't care whether it is released in the U.S. or not. The thing is though that the studio is being closed so I cannot see why they wouldn't release it in the states. Any money they make on it would be a bonus. I just don't get THQ.

After the last news article reporting sales down 74% year over year they need to do something to get folks excited. It's a shame that only Dragon Quest will be playable and the rest will be video only.

Hmmm...

Windows 98SE --> Windows ME

Windows XP Pro --> Windows Vista

Office 2003 --> Office 2007

There are three quick examples of making it worse. Please NEVER underestimate the stupidity of the folks in Redmond.

"first off the 130million ps2 users are now PS3 and 360 owners"

PS3 = 17 mil
360 = 23 mil

Total = 40 mil

Somewhere either Sony or Microsoft made a mistake because there are 90 million "owners" unaccounted for. Next time skip the bowl of failios for breakfast before you try to troll. kthxbye

If you read the article they cited "hard to develop for" and then go on to mention that Sandblast Games is one of five studios being closed by THQ. Judging from the previous offerings sales declined from 700k+ for the original to approx. 400k for the sequel. Now this installment is being rushed out the door so THQ can finalize the closing of a studio and claim a loss on their 2008 corporate tax filings.

This can only be a good thing. For someone to call themselves software developers and say this means only one thing. LAZY devs. RTFM and get on with it. Hell Sony offers dev. support as well to help them work around issues.

Next in todays news:

Software developement house Sandblast Games blames pencil for spelling mistake!

Oh and take note this is Sandblast Games final game according to the article. Why? Simple, THQ is closing them down. Me thinks...

Well that's a double edged sword. For the consumer that is looking for JUST a gaming system than yes it is pricier than the others. For the consumer looking for a gaming system AND a Blu-Ray player to complement their HDTV then it is the perfect choice. It all depends on how you look at it.

If the biggest complaint is:

"Their biggest complain seems to be about the lack of an IR receptor, which means you can't use universal remotes with it."

Then all is well!

From the article:

"Microsoft developed programming languages before it purchased DOS and dominated PC operating systems"

I stopped reading after this. Not only are these guys all over Steve Ballmer's and Bill Gates' jock but they don't know what the hell they are talking about.

MS-DOS released 1981

Microsoft QBasic released 1986

The rest of the article flows just about as well as the quote I referenced.

There is no amount of or lack of DLC that will prompt me to keep a game. Plain and simple if the game is something I enjoy playing regardless of DLC I will keep it. If the game is something I don't care to play again or just plain sucked the first time through it gets the boot. That's about as easy as it gets and I am sure the majority of gamers, regardless of platform, feel the same way.

While I try not to post in the Open Zone this comment struck me some. I don't believe the 360 will die when Sony cuts the price on the PS3. What I do see though is a drastic shift to PS3 purchases. Whether the PS3 is an upgrade from a PS2 owner or a second console from a 360 or Wii owner. In any case it will definately impact the overall 360 sales when the price cut happens. To what extent remains to be seen.

This holiday season will be interesting indeed. MS with their big titles out plus price cut. Sony w/ their big titles out and huge ad campaign about to start. That's for the US/EU. Japan will get one extra little bonus and that is WKC on December 25th. I would hope the impact of WKC in Japan is very positive but after seeing how The Last Remnant was received kind of curbs my enthusiasm a bit. In any case both consoles will undoubtedly sell well globally. Then there is the Wii... which ...

Don't take this the wrong way but like I said MANY times before Microsoft has a way of misrepresenting numbers. Is the 7 million Europe or EMEA? Now granted Africa and the Middle East are not HUGE consumers for the XBox 360 or the PS3 for that matter. But even if the numbers in both equaled 250k-300k overall sales that takes away from the stated European total of 7 million. How much does this matter? In reality probably not much. This could also be a non-factor and MS has actually sold ...

Granted it is no AAA title but myself along with many others expected to see it shift more consoles than that. FFS Bandai releases their 378th iteration of a Gundam game and it sells some ungodly amount of copies and shifts tens of thousands of consoles it is released on. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Example Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii. Everyone + DOG owns a Wii in Japan for the most part. Watch what happens when this game comes out. Not only will it sell like mad but wil...
