Read the article and a nifty take on both games. If you really wanna get down to the nitty gritty.
Gears of War 2 avg of all 8 scores = 7.625
Resistance 2 avg of all 8 scores = 7.775
Difference. Not a damned thing. Both games are great games and that's the long and short of it.
Assassins Creed 360 - 4mil / PS - 3 mil
Forza 2 360 - 4mil / GT5P - 3 mil
GH3 360 - 3.5 mil / PS3 1.7 mil
RB 360 - 2 mil / PS3 - 1 mil
Oblivion 360 - 2.5 mil / PS3 - 1 mil
Numbers wise the PS3 is staying very competitive with the 360 when comparing installed base. I noticed that you favored the ones that sold more on the 360 though. What about these?
DMC 4 360 - 5.1 mil / PS3 - 7.9 mil
Burnout Paradise - 360 and PS3 approx. 800k e...
SOCOM: Confrontation is a damned fine game. Excellent tactical FPS with very realistic gameplay. The graphics are great, the sound effects are awesome, all in all a very satisfying game. Granted first couple of days the backend servers had some issues but now the game plays wonderfully clean and smooth. What's not to like?
Those ads are pretty freakin' cool. Would be nice to see them in the NY Times, Daily News, Chicago Tribune, etc... Even if it were only a 2 or 3 week spot leading up to and ceasing on the new year.
I couldn't have said it any better myself.
No fun on a PS2?
MGS3, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Twisted Metal: Black, Zone of the Enders, GT3/GT4, Kingdom Hearts 1&2, FF X, Ico, God of War 1&2, SotC, Timesplitters, Fatal Frame, etc... I can now honestly say that you sir/madam are full of it. To even remotely intimate that you had less fun on a PS2 to the PS1 is pure tripe. Granted the PS1 was an awesome console but the PS2 in terms of gameplay, quality games and the quantity of quality games is beyond compa...
XBox 360 Slim? They can't keep the model they have cool enough to run without getting the RRoD. I can only imagine a slim model. Plug it in, turn it on and hear the following message.
"Good evening casual consumer. Thank you for purchasing the 360 slim. This message and console will self destruct in 5 seconds."
So what you are saying is that Microsoft will hold 2009 by releasing yet another Halo and a small incindiary device?
Wow. Did you tell yourself all that first before you typed it out or did it just flow out like sewage?
WKC will deliver in spades on the JRPG front. As for western RPGs I have no clue what the PS3 is getting as I don't follow that area area of gaming at all on any console. God of War 3, Killzone 2, GT5, Heavy Rain, Infamous, Uncharted 2... ring any bells? As for FFXIII it will be out on the PS3 first in Japan oooh and ONLY on the PS3 in Japan and FFXIII Versus is exclusive ...
Alrighty you have the inability to comprehend how the Cell and RSX work which is no suprise seeing that your forum nic is fanboi. Killzone 2 is beyond compare in the visuals department. Reason being is that the textures, for the most part, are uncompressed and streamed. The high bandwith of the Cell, XDR Memory and the RSX allow the streaming of uncompressed textures off of the BD. Now uncompressed textures take up a fair amount of space and eats into the space on a normal BD which is als...
The Gears cover system? LOL! OK quick hint for the video game impaired and the Cliffy B. boy toys.

Game is called Killswitch and came out well before Gears AND it is 3rd person just like Gears.
Now this is some funny sh*t! Microsoft is behind an office suite that is in general competition with its' own simply to take a shot at Google which they despise. What's even funnier is MS has tried SO hard in the past 2 years to discredit Open Office and the .odf format. It can't get any better than this. Note to MS. You can't innovate, your products absolutely suck ass hardware and software.
NO.
Myself and many others have basically said the same thing. It all boils down to being accepted or having the "in" thing. Same can be said of the Wii. When kids talk to their friends they want to feel accepted and Halo and Gears are the in thing with the 21 and under crowd. In the same breath do they not only share in their gaming experiences but I would go as far as saying their RRoD experiences as well. Unfortunately, it is somehow seen as acceptable when the hardware fails re...
Definately a nice little bundle. Seeing that the popularity of Blu-Ray is skyrocketing in the EU it should prove to be a good seller.
XBox 360 with a 1 year head start and already priced for the bargain bin. Desparation set in when the PS3 was outselling it and MS had to do something to save face so they dropped the price to as low as they possibly could. The initial impact is quite favorable for MS but in no way sustainable. The PS3 is still selling strong in all markets and when Sony cuts the price, which at this point has been strongly suggest as march/april of 2009, the XBox 360 will begin to wane.
Is now biased? Why? Because they didn't nominate a rehashed Gears or Fable II? Although I have to admit that NHL is a bit odd. In any case it is what it is and obviously isn't what most 360 fans expected.
Holy sh*t! I started laughing so hard I shot some of my morning coffee out my nose! I guess Media Molecule isn't creative enough? Although I can see how Gears 2 is so original and creative... you know the whole shoot aliens and duck behind cover thing. LOL! This has got to be linked on Joystiq.com because it is definately comedy for gamers!

Sucks don't it?
You have drank too much of the MS kool-aid. LBP sold 1 Mil+ worldwide in its' first month. R2 is almost at 500k without European sales reporting in yet. The Netflix functionality still requires a PC for the user to access their account and queue the rentals, the 360 just used to view them. Although what you also forgot to mention is that a 360 w/ HDMI and a HDCP compliant display is required for Netflix to work.
Now let's move onto the 360 exclusives. Granted Gears 2, Fable...
I haven't used a Microsoft product or operating system for nearly 17 years and have not had any problems doing anything. Unix/Linux/VMS have pretty much been where I resided since I started using computers. I have yet to see a MS product make anyones life easier. Spyware, viruses, etc... ripping them apart. The need to run multiple products to protect yourself from threats and in doing so losing out on a lot of system resources. It is ridiculous.
