What a moron. 13.5 million overall sales, 1.7 million are Blu-Ray which is approx. 13% is bad? The fact that Blu-Ray has aready claimed nearly 16% of the overall market in 2 years not only proves its' staying power but it has grown faster than DVD has in the same time. If the trend continues on shows the same growth throughout 2009 that would mean that Blu-Ray will have captured approx. 25% of the overall market. Yeah Don, Blu-Ray has no chance. I seriously wonder how this twit gets publ...

How bad it would be if Sony posted their numbers. As it stands on any given night I can log into CoD 4 or CoD 5 and there are 60k - 70k playing each, Warhawk is always buzzing as is Burnout Paradise, Resistance 2, SOCOM, GT5:P and LBP. Those are just the games that I play online so I can't speak about Madden, FIFA or PES, etc... In any case there are always people on and playing.

But man this sounds awfully familiar to how things started in the 30's over in Germany. For some reason there is this mentality that "Big Brother" or the Government knows whats best and that's that. How about folks in Germany go and protest this vocally, that is if protesting is still allowed? The more and more I read this crap and what the Governments want the more and more I worry. First games, then books, broadcasts and speech. Every inch of freedom that is given up a mile i...

to bet that the PS3 is closer to break even now in terms of manufacturing cost vs. sales cost. The $448.73 figure given by iSuppli is more than likely 5% - 7% higher than the actual manufacturing cost. So I would guess more in the range of $417.32 - $426.29 to make each unit. I base this more on articles from Sony execs that are over a year old saying that they are near break even.

Also, knowing that the price of the Blu-Ray diode has gone down to $18.86 in qty. of 250k or greate...

Fishy to me. If anything it is a bundle that that particular store is offering to spur holiday sales. I don't see this as a worldwide price drop for the PS3 at all.

Notice in the description on Bartsmit.com for the 299.95 euro model.

Uw voordeel 100.00 which translates to: You save or You Benefit 100.00

Then the fact that the PS3 80gb + LBP is still 399.95 as is the Motorstorm 2 bundle. Me thinks this is nothing more than an in store or chain deal to...

Exclusives alone the PS3 is light years ahead of what the XBox 360 has to offer in 2009, nevermind the multiplats.

"Well, I'm not sure how good White Knight Chronicles is going to be since Famitsu gave it a pretty low review score..."

This coming from the same place that scored Lair, Haze and TLR 34-38 and look how they turned out. Granted out of the 3 Haze was average at best but not the score it received. TLR got a 38 and was an absolute stinker and Lair well.. take that one as you will. With the patch and analog controls for the dragon it isn't half bad. I will wait to see ho...

What did I say in the other article... you know, the positive one. Oooh yeah, that's it. Another "Blu-Ray is failing/dead/dying" article inbound. Sure as sh*t here it is. Surprise, surprise!

EDIT: Although this one isn't doom and gloom it still ain't the apple pie in the sky article either. Blu-Ray has done incredibly well in 2008 and will continue to grow stronger throughout 2009. Currently Blu-Ray has a faster adoption than DVD in the same time frame so to say...

The only thing dangerous to small developers is making an average or sub standard game. Regardless of the platform it is released for.

Haze, Lair, Banjo, The Last Remnant, Perfect Dark, Destroy All Humans: PotF, etc... If the games aren't up to par no matter what console it is exclusive to or multi it will hurt the developer.

Someone tried to cluster 16 Xbox 360s the ambient temperature in the region went up 6 degrees. The project was discontinued for fears that prolonged use of what was nicknamed "The Blast Furnace Cluster" could cause the ice caps to melt at a minimum. Some scientists even speculated that it may even be possible for The Blast Furnace Cluster to meltdown similar to a nuclear reactor and work its' way to the Earth's core. Plans for The Blast Furnace cluster have since been destroyed a...

So much for the "PS3 is too hard to code for" myth. I guess all of the people that were calling devs lazy were right afterall.

That people are losing their jobs due to the recession especially during the holiday season. Just hope they can pull through these tough times and find employment.

NOTE: Notice how this article wasn't sensationalized like the Sony ones? Makes ya wonder sometimes.

Here's hoping he is not in the loop. The PS3 does need a price cut of some kind next year.

This was great. Toot your own horn and complement Nintendo all the while shooting down Microsoft. All in one sentence to boot. The best part is that not one time during the article did he outright bash anything either, unlike MS and their talking head Greenberg. Class.

Because Microsoft is stupid and too full of themselves. They would rather hobble together a sub-standard piece of hardware that fails when you look at it funny. All this to be able to release it to market as quick as possible to get a jump on the competition.

Gee, sounds a lot like the XBox 360.

that claim flop. If you remember correctly, which I doubt seeing that XBots have a very limited and poor memory, TLR scored a 38/40 and sank like the Titanic. Let's wait and see how well the Japanese public receive this before proclaiming anything. Historically Level 5 RPGs have sold between 300k and 400k in the first two weeks of release. Not to mention they have some serious name recognition ATM with Professor Layton and the Curious Village. They have far less to prove than SE does in ...

Thank God! Othewise the game would have been scored 38/40 like TLR and flopped hard. Let the Japanese public decide this time out. We have seen how wonderfully the received TLR with its' stellar reviews. Lets see how they receive this one, shall we?
