Sony's 20% ownership of Square Enix hasn't stopped Square Enix from Supporting Nintendo like a mad dog. If Sony had that much say so, they wouldn't have lost Dragon Quest 10 to the DS.
Back in 2005, Square Enix showed a demo on Xbox 360. Later Square Enix claimed the demo would be an MMO. In addition, at E3 2006, Square Enix stated that their would be 6 versions of Final Fantasy XIII. We know two versions are for Playstation 3 and one would be for cell phones but we don't know what system the other three versions are for. Knowing Square Enix's track record, one of those version will likely come out for DS.
We also know that Final Fantasy XIII is being built on ...
I'm still working on Lost Odyssey. I like to play a JRPG about once a year. Considering that their were no, JRPGs for the original Xbox, I can't believe how many have come out for Xbox 360.
@Shadow Flare
You are incorrect in your assessment that disc space give a better resolution for games. In the case of Blu-Ray movies or FMV, the disc space on a Blu-Ray makes for a better resolution but for a game it doesn't. For each game, in order to have upscaling, you have to do upscaling through software. Meaning that each developer has to take the extra time and money to write software that will allow their game to be upscaled. I'd imagine that in the case of DVDs movies o...
I have a PS3 with a 20 gig hard drive. However, any game I've had to install, I've just deleted after I was done. I use it mostly for PS2 games though.
Golden Axe Rules the world!
About a year ago, I could tell you that there's a major difference between Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Now days, they aren't so different. They are priced similarly, and they share a good number of the same games. It really comes down to first party exclusives. Who's exclusives do you want? It's all a matter of preference.
Alone in the Dark and left4Dead will hold me down until Resident Evil 5 comes out.
Actually, I didn't make that up. If you go to IGN News, you'll see that I took that directly from them.
Good God, the game isn't due until November. Remember early Call of Duty 4 screen shots? It's ridiculous attacking a game this early in development. The video looks outstanding. If you think the visuals are the same as the original Gear of War, consider the amount of on screen enemies and the amount going on onscreen.
Most Playstation fans are decent but for those extremest, get over your inferiority complex and enjoy your fricken system and let Xbox 360 users enjoy theirs.
When I say Laser, I'm mean Laser Lens. The picture I posted is a PS3 replacement drive. Theres no multiple drives or flipping lasers. Everything is a unit, one, uno, ichi.
@Kyur4ThePain
What are you talking about? Playstation 3 has a single drive and a single Laser that reads PSOne(CD-Rom), PS2 (DVD-Rom) and PS3 (Blu-Ray) games. There are numerous reasons his PS3 could have stopped working. He's probably right about the dust on the laser. However, if he smokes, that could kill the system. The fans draw in the smoke and cloud the laser. A Blu-Ray disc has more info to read (or more compressed info) and the laser probably can't focus on it (due to du...
First Sony tells us the Playstation 3 is a Super Computer, then Multimedia system, then a Video Game System, Now we are back to Multimedia system. Make up your mind Sony
Well than GTA games sell on average 8 million units in the United States where as DQ games sell about 4 million in Japan. Making the GTA franchises bigger than Dragon Quest (Sales wise).
"This seems impossible (Over-tracked?). GTA is now like the Dragon Quest of the U.S or something man..."
blynx182 doesn't seem to understand the magnitude of the GTA series. The Dragon Quest series isn't even in the same league as the GTA Franchise. My point is that they ar...
GTA San Andreas sold 17 million units worldwide on Playstation 2 and 2 million more on the original Xbox. It's bigger than Dragon Quest (Sales wise). Dragon Quest games sell about 4 - 5 million units worldwide.

Well, in order to take the world wide sales, Playstation 3 has to close the gap between them and the Xbox 360. Playstation 3 has been doing so but very slowly. Playstation 3 is doing good in Europe but in the U.S.A. not so good. You can say that PS3 may be 2nd to the Wii in Europe by the end of the year. However there's a 6 million unit gap in the United States that isn't closing.
...Now that I think of it, the gap in the America is larger then the entire PS3 user base in the Uni...
United States and Europe are the only markets that count in this case. You aren't going to see big numbers out of Japan for GTA IV.
Because HD-DVD was in the market, there was fierce competition to capture the next generation format. I remember seeing "buy one get one free sales" often during 2007. Since HD-DVD has left the market, I see no activity in terms of gaining new ground in the Blu-ray market. I believe Sony is totally reliant on PS3 to maintain it.
I have a top of the line HD-LCD TV. I bought it for next generation video games. I wouldn't mind buying Blu-ray Movies but not at $24 - $35 a pop. With DVDs averaging $10, I'd rather buy 3 DVDs.
@romemac7
BioShock looks better than Uncharted but that all comes down to opinion, right?
@Dan Houser
As for Xbox 360 games that run at 1080p native, I only know of three, Street Home Court Xbox, Sega Super Star Tennis and Virtual Tennis 3, plus a bunch of Xbox Live arcade titles like Boogie Bunnies
