What's wrong with regular controls and motion controls co-existing? I just bought a Kinect, and play Kinect Adventures and Dance Central on it - and have a blast doing it. It really surprised me with how awesome it is.
& then I can pull out a controller and play whatever other game I would like to. I'm currently playing through Portal 2.

You know, I just recently tried out Kinect since my friend had it, and I bought it the very next day. It's damn fun, impressively accurate, and I was having so much fun, I didn't even mind looking like a complete loser.
I won't pass judgment on this until I see what it actually will be. Honestly, after seeing how Kinect works, if they're creative about it, I think they could figure out a clever way to have it all work.

There are no loving arms in big corporations. This just shows that you really shouldn't put your trust in any company. M$ will give you red rings, Sony will have your information slip through their fingers, and Nintendo .. well, they don't really have a place in this argument.
I just know that I'll probably get store-bought cards from now on..
I dunno. I disagree. I don't think anyone would blame Sony if they reacted quickly and erred on the side of caution, even if it startled some people.
I would praise Sony for giving their customers as much notice as they possibly could to start watching their credit cards and to just be on high alert for anything dealing with their information.

Did I say I didn't check the news? Nope. I just said I don't bother to check the mainstream news except every couple days. Hell, the biggest news story this week on mainstream news was the Birther nonsense. Gosh, I dunno what I would have done if I didn't get confirmation that what I already knew was true .. is true.
I do rely on N4G for gaming industry news, though. But, should I have had to? Wouldn't it have been easy for Sony to update their error message?...
This writer brings up a very good point. I don't watch television, I only check the mainstream news on CNN like once every few days - and I must have missed the article on there about all this. I prefer other sources for news.
Honestly, if I wasn't on N4G then I would also be in the dark. Sony should have had it in a PS3 error message, and I am very surprised their mass e-mail isn't more efficient as I have not received one either.

I dunno. On the one hand, Sony offers the service for free, on the other, I pay $60 for a game, and Sony is the party responsible for me not being able to utilize all $60-worth of game that I paid for.
They have their reasons for it being down, but they should probably at least consider a small reimbursement. A free PSOne game or something. Something cheap just to get everyone to calm down.
