Rock Band lets me punch in a cheat code if I don't want to go through all the tours to unlock everything, and they shut off achievements, which is more than fair. They don't charge me for the songs that are already on the disk.

You get comparisons, sure, but no one is ever like IT'S THE KILLZONE KILLER. Because, while Killzone is snazzy and sells well, it never did get around to killing Halo..
I'm kinda going back to my belief that EA is evil.. I mean, they're doing money grubbing things that Activision isn't. & That's really saying something. They're starting a horrible, horrible trend that I hope doesn't run rampant.
Plus, GameStop has been discounting some online pass games extra when they get them in as pre-owned. So, until they go full digital distribution, this won't end their problems.
There literally hasn't been an online pass game that I've wanted to buy, fortunately. I don't play sports games, and EA never seems to make online games I have any desire to play.
Plus, you don't see smaller studios doing this. EA is really not hurting for copies being sold. It's just blatant greed.

Who's to say what their main IP is anymore? Half Life is definitely their most loved and wanted, by far. But, they have a shiz load of IPs going for them now.
I'm saying that when Valve finishes Half Life 2: Ep 3, they'll release it. Not a moment sooner. I love Half Life, but I love Left 4 Dead. and I love Portal. and I love Team Fortress, and Counter Strike, and and I love basically everything Valve has ever done.
