Already owning a 360 the price drop has little to do with me other than the fact that I'm psyched for the Slim. If I had neither console in all honesty the PS3 definately looks far superior when it comes to what's in the box. I do agree though that it comes down to games and I think Microsoft does a far better job at getting people excited about what's coming out, not just new games but DLC as well (one of the biggest sales pitches for ODST is the Halo 3 multiplayer). I'll be picking one up at the begining of the year, give it some time to see if it has hardware problems like the PS2 slim did when it first came out (or just pay $40 for an extended waranty). And though people on here make it seem like everyone who has a 360 buying a Slim will ditch it, that's not gonna be my case. Both will recieve the love they deserve!
For those complaining you can buy a PS2 on ebay for $40 with $6 shipping... I would rather have a whole seperate console for old games than to have BC and risk wearing out my new hardware faster, maybe just me though.

I believe they're keeping the hype down for 2 reasons; 1) Hype cost money and as long as they can market it through Live where most of the Halo fans are anyway then mission acommplished. 2) They have other games coming out that NEED marketing so much more to become an esablished franchise, namely Forza 3. Maybe they should extend the life of the PS3 another 10 years so it could catch up to the Wii, then you could throw a party for yourself like the God of War 2 one (poor goat). At the PS2's current price it was still outselling the PS3 for almost 2 years and is STILL selling. I only know one person on my friends list who cares about the total score of his gamertag. I find myself looking at specific games to see what they've done that I haven't or vice versa. Plus you think competitive people would go buy up all the old games they could just to catch up if it was such a big deal. The only downside I see is those people constantly asking how you got this and that achievement.
For those who didn't read it describes "OFFLINE" co-op, or something similar to Army of Two's co-op (always splitscreen) so no one needs to freak out...

I payed $250 USD for my PSP at launch and it didn't come with 16GB of memory or half the features that the Go comes with so I don't see much of a problem with the price. My only concern is how much tighter the controls are squeazed in together. It looks uncomfortable like he mentioned.
As long as it's difficult I'll be happy. Action games are far too short if easy, just compare how long it takes to beat GOW to Shinobi.
