I freaking love this game! I didn't even read the review but I'm sure they pointed out that the one weak point is endless fetch quests. Really they're not so bad because you can horde up items along the way and just hand them over later to instantly complete quests for some quick gald. You don't even have to complete them if you don't want to.
It's great to hear the game is coming along so well. And yet another developer/publisher says that the PS3 and 360 have the same horse power, it's becoming the trend I guess. I guess that's a hint that both games will be identical.
Just to throw it out there the PS was originaly a cd drive for nintendo's system so technically MG Solid was born on the Nintendo but was "ported" to the PS before it came out...
As much as I loved the other two games I'm gonna have to wait and see how this turns out before I dive in.
Killzone and the later Socoms got mediocre reviews but people still love those. To be Honest I prefer the niche games over casual games myself.

I would have swapped it for FEAR, Rainbow 6, Ghost Recon, or even Call of Duty 2, you know games people are actually still playing...
I would just about guarantee that most people who have Wii's have a PS2. Did they buy a Wii because the love Nintendo? No, but because it was cheap and came out the door with a major ip. The casual gamer wants something proven with games in their hands then, not an IOU. This is why the 360 is in such a slump right now. Sorry but those old PS2 owners aren't loyal to anyone IMO.

Your forgetting Bioshock and Mass Effect. I'm not much of a sequal whore and like new and unique games over washed out sequals. You can play Madden 23 and GTA 6 but I'll pass.

It's not lazy, it's just all about the money. Just like last gen, they have a finished game and then they start thinking to themselves "Hm, should we spend more money to get the exact same game running as good as what we already have or should we just shove it into the box and pray?" You'll be seeing a lot of this unless the xb360 disapears which will happen the same month Nintendo stops making handhelds...
I agree, they should do what they said they were going to do before it even came out and have a "build to order" sku. Set it up where you start with a 20GB HDD and no wi-fi or BC and no rumble, maybe even wired controllers (doubtful but that would drastically lower cost) and start it at $399. Then add all the upgrades one could possibly hope for at the buyers whim. They need to stop discontinuing sku's and offer a build to order service (like they originally said they would!). Imagi...
Saints Row was a shooter to me so I don't think that one counts. I would add Ninety Nine Nights and Battle for Middle Earth II, though. The problem isn't diversity, it's having to risk $60 or $70 at a time to find it. Here's to Greatest hits, Platinum hits, and all the other $30 and below next gen games!!!!

I agree with your thoughts, however as someone who actually sells systems and games I've noticed something crucial. 90% of PS2 owners are not loyal fanboys but casual gamers who bought it because so many of their friends did. These people aren't sitting on their hands either, they are buying Wii's because it is the thing to do. In fact, if trends continue it will be another 2 or 3 years before the vast majority even make a decision. Personaly I would rather my money go to an American company ...
I will say that it's nearly impossible to compare since Kz2 is almost shown in black and white because of the dark setting. Plus having seen so much more of CoD4 in so many levels gives it more of an edge because we've seen it in so many different backgrounds. Based on the video and the video alone Kz2 has better animations but CoD4 looks far more diverse. The winner imo is CoD4 because it gives more sense of tension over just bullets flying around you all the time.
I remember when this happened to Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. It had a Muslim Chant in the Fire Temple that was removed in later builds. I'm a proud owner of one of the original's. Does anyone know why they put that saying in the game to begin with?
