"MGS4 is better than all those games combine". I might agree with you if it weren't for Bioshock being on their list, that game truely deserves every bit of praise it gets. I really hope you play it when you get the chance to experience something more than just a game. It recieved game of the year for a reason and not because it sold more than anything that year.
Very doubtful it will be GOTY, but it has without a doubt won the most inivative GOTY. With Gears 2, Metal Gear 4, and GTAIV out it would be hard pressed to top the games with such a hardcore following.

Can you give any reason why? Your talking about a game that I sat and played for 17 hours until I beat it! The only game I played for that long prior was when Starcraft came out.
Maybe some games weren't all they were cracked up to be? From an artistic standpoint Bioshock is a 10/10 on any system (but lets not push it and launch it on the Wii).

Because ads really throw my game off!? It's just something that's there and kind of makes it feel more lively with up to date things like this. I just got finished playing RSV2 again and noticed FarCry 2 posters all over the convention center. It made me laugh, but it's like "hey, we know your in here". As long as they don't put comercials in games I'll be fine...
Could you imagine if BR and HDDVD were still going at it," look how vibrent my version is" or "I have more pixels!". Anyway I could see games going to standerdized console similar to how PC's are, that way just about everybody gets to play what they want without envy.

Definately picking it up for the 360, but may pick it up for DS as well. I'm glad they made it turn based because those work so much better than rts's do on the DS such as Advanced Wars.
The first GB wasn't black and white it was green and white (I have one in my collection that I played till the color came out). They didn't jump to black and white until the GB pocket. Well Jake if you don't like swapping discs do you just play the same game until a new one comes out then throw aweay the old one? If that's the case get on Virtual console and get you some classics and never have to swap a disc! You've already got a Wii, right...

You shouldn't put it so doom and gloom when it comes to who will be number 2 or 3. The fact that it has taken Sony so long to catch up will seriously hamper their next gen system. While they are beating the PS3 into people's heads MS and Nintendo are pointing out the games making their transition to the next gen much smoother. Sega was in a similar debocle with the Saturn, suporting the saturn, gamegear, dreamcast, sega cd all at once. The casual consumer feels offended when they spend so muc...

Yeah because M$ advertised the heck out of the game in 2007 that's why hundreds of thousands play Halo 3 every day... Not because they like the game but because they have been duked and aren't having fun... I have nothing against R2, but to say it surpasses anything when you haven't played it is ignorant.
