I can't afford two consoles and was honestly considering switching from xbox 1 to PS3 last year, but I suspected Sony were lying about how much better the Playstation 3 was than the 360, and so I stuck to my guns. I beleive that this is paying off for me now.
I am angry at Sony for forcing their experimental disk drive on the public at premium cost. It is taking advantage of the people who made their gaming department big, just to push their HD disk product through the HD disk...
I agree, the 360 needs a bigger, cheaper hard drive, which we will undoubtedly get.
I've heard people here saying you need to buy the Hard drive to play Xbox Live. This is not at all true. You need a memory storage device, so a memory card will do. The hard drive is to store arcade games, demos and videos/music, and it gives you the backwards compatability emulation software. You can probably fit one or if you're lucky two arcade games on a memory card. Automatic firmware updat...
"We're slightly ahead of where we were on 360 at this time last year."
This is embarassing. Can none of you PS fanboys read? The above quote says that CURRENT Ps3 games look slightly better than LAST YEAR'S Xbox 360 games.
"This Christmas, it's going to be difficult to harness the full power of the PS3 on first generation software versus what will be second generation 360 games, so they're going to be more alike than different, is our opinion at t...
I think 2008 is a fair timeframe. It's not overambitious in the slightest, Microsoft have started tapping into other types of consumers this gen, even here in Britain, where everyone I meet is some sort of japanophile, everyone seems to be talking about it, even the non-gamers, i've only heard a few people say "Wait till the PS3". Even the nongamers talk about it, and it is the premier choice for competition prizes, which used to go to the PS2. The will sell a very healthy amount, t...
I think I speak for all of us, when I say you are a little bit sad for writing all that just to say you prefer Nintendo. Say it with me. "I prefer Nintendo". There. That was so much easier, yes?
Ok. Now listen. Nintendo have effectively excused themselves from the next gen. They are offering a great, cheap little console, which will undoubtedly bring hours of fun. I will buy one for my little brother. But for heavens sakes, stop with the whole "The big N will sne...
You said the 20gb PS3 was better than the premium 360. The premium comes with a 20gb harddrive too.
Yes, bluray will give developers more space. But it's all space that they don't need, unless they want to prerender high definition video. And you can compress onto a DVD without losing quality, see the commenter above you, procedural synthesis.
And for the last time, Sony lied, the PS3 online service is not free. There is a premium service, just like xbox live. Yo...
I'm sorry, what do you mean the PS3 20gb is better than 360 premium? You remember that the 20gb doesn't have an hdmi port right? So it is incapable of 1080p, which is the only reason for getting Bluray in the first place. On top of that, Bluray will only benefit your movies, hardly any games if any at all will use 1080p. Plus most tvs don't even accept a 1080p signal, and of those that do, most downscale it. Very few tvs actually can show a true 1080p signal, and those that do are too expensi...
This news item is about rainbow six vegas's possible cancelled release, not about the game. So shut up with your fanboy crap and talk about the topic or nothing.
And this game is being ported over to the PS3 from the xbox, dumbarse.
This is very inspirational!
what kind of BS is this? It's just another PS3 fanboy writing with deceptively good grammar.
Sony got rid of the extra ports and made the dual SKUs to reduce production cost and to copy MS, not to please the customer.
My guess is when they showed the "PS3" at E3 2005 it was just a plastic case, and a budget estimate. They realised all the s**t they threw in the blueprint would make the console launch at £500-600, so they made major cutbacks. Don't be surpr...
Microsoft know that japan rejecting the console will not hurt console sales in the long run. They'll just reduce the number of consoles shipping there accordingly. They just want to put pressure on the PS3 on its own turf, that's the only reason they still support the region.
I found the demo to be a blast, no disappointment whatsoever. I don't expect every game I buy to redefine its genre, just like I enjoy watching crappy low budget comedies by eddie griffin just for a cheap laugh.
For me, Prey was a masterpiece of imagination. I like the whole interactive movie aspect of it, and it kept me on my toes. Full game is on preorder, (i'm in Britain) and i'm looking foward to it.
I'm sure Playstation will release on time, because to be honest they'll have a hard time competing with MS if Microsoft have another competition free (besides Wii) christmas.
But i'm a bit concerned about the bluray reader. Bluray players must cost alot for a good reason, so they must sacrifice some of the Blu-ray reader quality to get it so cheap (that's cheap for a bluray player, not for a console). I predict at least 5% Blu-ray drive failure. And I promise, that's not a fanb...
I'm getting so bloody tired of this.
I'm a gamer. Why should i have to sit around in a site listening to a bunch if immature preteens argue over who has the best hardware. Gaming is supposed to be fun.
The PS3 and the 360 are on average THE SAME. They trump one another in different areas, resulting in practically the same grapghics and physics. I prefer Microsoft because I feel they deliver better quality, and I don't want a PS3 because I have no interest in Bluray or HD-DVD wh...
"so you know its you I was replying to dipSh!t"
He knows you were replying to him because your comment was indented under his. That is because you pressed "reply" to his post.
What are you twelve?
'LANDOFSAND' just say it overheated, say 4 red lights. They wont notice or care, they replace all the hardware regardless of the problem. I got hardware failure and recieved my same unit with a replaced cd drive and in full working order, and I had passed the 90 day mark, which I think they extended to 6 months though.
I think the graphics look alot more defined than COD2, alot of little things you may not otherwise notice. Hand on hand looks novel, but it might get frustrating if people keep doing it online. I find people already get too excited when they get a melee kill.
INCOMING FANBOYS!
TAKE COVER!
What kind of a sad loner waits the entire time for a console launch skulking around the competition's site trying to tell people their console is c**p. How insecure must you be to do that? Get a damn hobby.
You bloody PS fanboys better not mess up this article. It's just about people talking about a game they all want to see, that we look foward to. If you want to start console wars, go to a different thread. This is a GAME. And we are GAMERS. GAMERS play the GAME, not argue about it.
Ok, now back to the point at hand. I hope I get my preorder on time with the demand there'll be for this. The advertising hasn't even started in europe yet, and it's already being hyped up. I'm glad ...
