I prefer the 360, but that doesn't mean i'm not entitled to read about the PS3. What kind of a gamer would I be if I swore complete allegiance to the 360 and refused to read news about any other console?

Seriously, he got alot of things right, but he really is biased. Look at how he runs off his credentials and insults the programming skills of every developer who said the PS3 was too hard to code for. He's saying that they were too cr*p at programming to understand how to use a PS3 to its potential, and claiming he knows how to.

Don't get me wrong, it was a great read. Very detailed. But totally Bias. He wins an award for most elloquent Sony fanboy ever to live, that much is certain. I just wish he could've used his awesome knowledge to actually give a fair comparison. Fact is, the two consoles focus on different areas, and end up being practically equal.
So is that finalised at US$200 then? Not sure how much that'll be in GBP£, sometimes they charge lower than the exchange rate, sometimes higher. But if it's also half the price of premium over here it'll be £120, which is pretty nice.

Your friend is a bit wierd. I played my 360 on my OLD (10 years) SD tv and it was damn impressive. I only bought a cheap widescreen monitor last month, and there's no doubt about it, it was an incredible experience, but it doesn't make my 360 any more of a good purchase. I still use my SD tv for 50hz BC games, and it doesn't ruin my experience at all.
Your friend was righ to be impressed, but selling his console because he had an SD tv? that's just not right.

There is a difference between being a fan and a fanboy. A fan appreciates their console, a Fanboy/girl idolises it and the people who made it.
Thus far, i've only ever heard one PS fanboy who wasn't a total moron. I've heard some equally as stupid Xbox fanboys, but the number i've seen just pales in comparison.

I consider myself slightly 360 fanboyish, but I still have my dignity. The PS3 looks alright, neither looks better IMO. I still wont be buying one. I preached for years that it doesn't matter what your console looks like since you wont be looking at the console, but nobody listened, all of a sudden the PS3 is bigger and suddenly everybody sees the light.

I don't think so, the 360 does all of the image processin, that's why the drive is so cheap. So the drive probably wont work on anyhting but the 360.

Hyperbear, I was perfectly happy with the launch titles on the 360, and I knew what good games were coming soon, but honestly who cares??? Do you really think the consumer will say "I'm buying a PS3 because the 360 launch titles weren't as impressive as the PS3 launch titles!" They will only be looking at what they can get right NOW. The avergae consumer doesn't expect results in the future or consider the past. They want the product to offer value for their money right here and rig...
ah, but half life 2 wasn't handled. It had a horrific frame rate, and Halo 2, which is the most impressive game I own, has irritating graphic rendering during play and cutscenes. Unless the made these games look like they were struggling on purpose to make the 360 look better, which I seriously doubt they would go through the trouble of doing, I think it's clear the xbox was reaching the end of its expandability graphics wise. I laugh with all these people saying that the 360 is not next gen, just better graphics. What exactly do you define as next gen? Something new? since almost all the games on the 360 are impossible to make on the xbox 1 without cutting them to pieces, why is it not next gen? If you think you have to see gameplay that you've never seen before for it to be next gen, you'll be very disappointed by the PS3 too. They're selling one PS3 package here in the UK, and it's the 60gb version, £425. You'd think you would find out how much the console costs if you love it so much and it's out in 3 months.
