I thought GT was about realism and being a true simulator.

A car RACING game involves crashes. Look at any major race and you will find crashes. You mess up in real life when driving and you crash with very real results. This game was supposed to be realistic car racing. This isn't a driving Mrs. Daisy sim.

I would of preferred a more realistic dmg system since this is a simulator, but also incorporate a rewind feature to compensate for the fact that the difficulty would go up because of this. I think over all it would of made many more people happy. For the people that still try to drive as perfect as possible, well they could just choose not to use it.

Also, GT5 was supposed to be better than this. It was being and is being held to higher standards because of the pedestal that people everywhere put it on. This is a Sony Exclusive, THE Sony Exclusive. Games that are supposed to be so polished your mind blows. GT5 was in development longer then any other Sony exclusive in fact. The little things that consistently keep coming up in reviews are just things that people didn't expect and are disappointed by when it comes to a game with as muc...

Well if you don't want to garner more hits for sites that have been posted with incorrect titles, often times by people with no relation to the site, then you should prob stop posting in the comments of them seeing as it builds the hot rating for it thus granting it more attention.

NFS Shift was and is being made as more of a realistic racer. Just because it holds a NFS name doesn't automatically make it an arcade racer.

Now with that same thought process, just because they call it a simulator/ sim like doesn't make it not arcadey or realistic.

I believe Gt5 articles were taking over the site before any negative things were being said. I never once saw people asking for them to stop at that point. When did this new trend of no one wanting people to talk about GT5 start?

"We're very actively going after the sim racing genre, to be up there and compete with GT5 and Forza and take a big chunk of that consumer"

That is the only part in the whole article where GT5 is mentioned. Do you see how not reading the article leads to misconceptions regarding how a developer acts? Is what was said above really all that horrible?

That was really neat, creative video. Hope more are posted for this and other games.

Some of the graphics are truly amazing. Some are horrible. What angers me is it's not consistent or even logical why it is the way it is.
For example, some of the tracks have fully detailed spectators. They look great. In fact they are from GT5:P. Then you have tracks that have horrible looking spectators that look like they were directly imported from the PS2 version...and prob were. So why use the ugly ones at all when you already have the assets in place to pull better modeled ...

That's what they said about Golden Eye. We all see how that turned out. Halo 1 is the best Halo people remember being, but that's the thing. People only remember the good parts. Nostalgia will only carry a game so far. Halo was amazing when it came out but it hasn't aged gracefully. I think Reach is way better than the earlier titles.

Very true. Halo 1 already came out on PC. That was the HD version.

I have seen the vids but it doesn't make the ps2 imported models look any better. For every amazing aspect of the game there is an equally jarring/ dated counterpart. The scenery looks horrible at parts. Trees and shrubbery look like ps2 place holders. Standard cars are from ps2 gt4 with upscaled res. The menu system is archaic and lacks many options that are seen as standard these days. Forza 3 has long load times. Just as long as gt5 but people complain about it in gt5 because the menus...

Checking the comments like you suggested shows at least twise the amount of disagrees to agrees on anything gt5 negative. I think the xbox trolls are being very vocal about this but to say they put number the amount of Sony fans on this site is a stretch.

Oh, don't get me wrong. Forza is no better. I just think it's funny to have people claim this or any other game right now is the definition of racing physics when there are such huge inconsistencies.
I wasn't talking about rubbing paint either. In Prologue people were topping the ranking charts online by riding rails at top speed or riding your opponents car around corners in order to take a corner at way faster speed than what was intended by developers. This issue was su...

No they are. Looking more into it Pd said so.

The standard cars are taken directly from the ps2 gt4. There is no spinning it. They cause the games visuals to come off as inconstant. Lots of cars to choose from but I'd rather have a good balance of number of cars that all look equally good.

5550d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

Aren't the standard cars the same models used in gt4?

5550d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

Ah, physics would explain why knocking into another car while going around a corner at twice the speed would both keep me on the road and maintain my speed. Makes sense.
