I don't have issues with fingers slipping, but like the author said, when putting the controller down, those shoulder buttons register being pressed (for me at least) every time.

Considering that none of the games that steam sells is physical and the majority of them are older titles, its nice extra income for these companies that didn't have to spend any extra to get.

Gears 2 added dedicated servers in one of the last updates.

Yes....but I want it NOW... :(

Well in this case, you settling for nothing as these servers are going down.

I didn't say no dedicated servers. I said offer both. If you think all P2P set ups are as bad as you described then you don't realize that the majority of games, even on the PS3 are P2P.

If Demon Souls offered both, then maybe in this situation, it wouldn't be as good as dedicated servers but at least you could still play online. Instead of them just shutting the online ...

Ugh, while I love dedicated servers when it's available, this is why games should offer both p2p and dedicated servers. In this case, p2p would have let this game go indefinitely.

What I want: It to come out here in the states.

I dislike multiplayer achievements because they can disrupt the game. For instance, instead of trying to capture the flag in a match, my team mate might be trying his hardest to get a 5 kills within a certain amount of seconds with a specific weapon, or hiding in a spot on the map trying to complete a match without dying.

Sounds like a plan. Although in the future, all you have to do is tell MS you have a redring. You don't have to actually have one. Their procedure is normally to send you an already refurbished 360 of the same model while they go through the broken system and replace the parts. So you get a fixed system anyways.

So, don't open the system and make sure to always claim RROD :)

step 1: sign up on N4g
step 2: say anything

BS testers have both dev units that they test with so they are working on the different versions at the same time equally is what I've been told.
I'd say the only difference is MS also provides a testing team to help with the 360 build.
So Epic testers are working on both the PS3 and 360 but the 360 version has the benefit of the extra MS provided testers.

Does your 360 not fall under warranty anymore? Never heard of MS taking more than 2 weeks to replace one.

Are people pirating the games in other parts of the world as bad as I've seen it here in the states? I do not know a single person with a PSP that doesn't have it hacked (besides me). I'm not delusional. I know there are. I just haven't met any.

Last I saw, the only bad marketing advertising I've seen here in the states was Sony claiming IGN gave GT5 a 9.0 instead of an 8.5.

*side note* Really not much of a difference but why would any company be allowed to round a score up like that?

The lighting/shadows look like it was overhauled. Adds much more detail and surprisingly makes Uncharted 2 seem "flat" in comparison.

too early? It's been 5 years. If you look at any other generation of consoles, this IS the end of this generation. I hope we start seeing announcements for new consoles this E3.

I would prefer it if when the PSP2 comes out, they provide the option to download every title that also comes out in physical format. The idea of a portable gaming system that is well supported and doesn't require me to carry around a bunch of carts/ umds is very very appealing.

Didn't say I was on that dev team, but yes, I work at IBM Software Group in RTP NC and have connections to members who were.

You could ignore my whole post if you like. My point stands. How can someone accuse MS/IBM/whoever for stealing tech that they themselves developed? It just doesn't make sense. That is really all I'm trying to ask/ get across.

I guess it really doesn't matter since you edited your comment to change how you phrased your s...

Judging by the disagrees in my comment above, you can indeed steal tech knowledge from yourself. This should lead to many interesting law suites where people sue themselves. Logic here amazes me.
IBM started development on the Cell before they started on the 360's processor. We worked with Sony, who provided the standards and Toshiba who worked with them on manufacturing (the sooner the better when designing new processors that will require new/refitted plants to manufacture). Son...

"Just as well that most of the heavy lifting, including the AA, was provided by the Cell.

Amazingly, when the PS3 ws launched, the media was full of stories on how the cell was apparently not useful for gaming. Mostly planted by the xbox club, which is ironic because it later emerged that the 360 used a cheap rip-off of the cell based on stolen tech, but not as good...
