A breach of the system can mean anything. Piracy, theft, general assholery. Sony investigated before warning people of something that may or may not have occured. Sony's statements are all saying the same thing: "I don't know". Would hearing that Sony doesn't know if someone might have stolen your information a week ago made you feel better or worse? How about the fact that they don't know now? This is not unprecedented. Visa and Bank of America were hit in the same fashion. Everyone needs to chill until Sony knows exactly what happened.

There is no such thing as security when it comes to online systems. There is always a way to get at information someone wants to keep secret. It's not Hacked vs Unhackable. It's Hacked vs Not Hacked Yet.
But would you get rid of your xbox because of a security breach? Probably not. I'd rather direct my anger and frustration to the people who did this.

Hackers are biting themselves in the ass with this one. Now they have little to no support left from the people whose rights they are supposedly fighting for. And once you start messing with credit card information (ie. The Money) you can forget the protection of the legal system. I'd bet when the first person is caught, he'll roll over on the rest. And it only takes one, just look at the Mafia.
I'm pretty sure Geohot got his ps3s donated to him from people who were dying for him to hack them. If he had paid for them, I'm sure he would have used that in his legal defense.
Anonymous says they had nothing to do with this attack, so they are either liars or scumbags. Most likely, lying scumbags. And any group that takes such offense at people calling them lying scumbags over the internet that they would risk jail time messing with others who have nothing to do with their argument deserves the miserable empty existence that awaits them.
I've reached the point where I can have a game with multiplayer and not touch it. I loved Assassins Creed Brotherhood and I've only played the online twice.
