Boycott makes no sense to me because the only way you are effected by the Pass is if you were never going to buy the game new. If you wanted to buy it used, the publisher gets no money for that sale so the purchase might as well never existed. I buy the games I really want new anyway and if I buy a used game it's usually for the single-player.
In my opinion, Mario has been more milked than Call of Duty or Battlefield ever will. But to each his own.
Those catch-up store updates are gonna be HUGE!
Did you hate The Dark Knight also because Katie Holmes was recast? Or a hundred other movies, TV shows, and games where roles were recast? It happens. Move on.
Loner will never be happy until Sony is gone from gaming altogether. In other words, Loner will never be happy.
It's sad, really...
I thought Stringer was on his way out anyway and Kaz was taking over?
I was going to buy V for Vendetta on Blu-ray the other day but Anonymous has ruined that movie for me forever now. Yet another reason to hate them.
Backwards compatibility was never removed from systems. You either bought a ps3 that had it or you didn't. And I would gladly trade OtherOS for Text Chat, a feature that was added and I've actually used.
Out of date and below industry standard are two different things. Hackers are saying that industry standard security is not enough anymore and they are right. The technology has changed quicker than the laws to regulate it have but that doesn't mean Sony was being lazy. They admitted their security was only industry standard and now they will have to keep it above that.

Your theory is slightly flawed because you assume that no one was trying to hack the PS3 before OtherOS was removed and hackers were only trying to right that wrong. Actually, hackers had been trying for years to hack and they were using OtherOS to do it. Sony stopped putting OtherOS in once the Slims came out but that just made the hackers (including Geohot by this point) even more bold. So after Geohot made some progress, Sony removed it from all models.
In a way, Sony did ...
So instead of attacking companies protected by laws, they've moved on to attacking governments protected by laws AND people with guns.
I approve of this.
I look at gaming as being similar to soap operas: both are enterprises that are mainly supported by a loyal consumer base but beyond that there is little growth. If you've never watched a soap opera, the odds of you starting to watch one are slim. Especially if it's a show that has been on for decades; there's too much to get caught up on and who has that kind of time?
There is always going to be a market for people who can get in on something popular from the beg...
You are a sad, sad little man.
What exclusives?
So when someone hits Microsoft, I guess you'll be cool with that...
The Lulzsec tweets make no mention of PSN, just Sony. Another provocative title crafted for hits.
I wouldn't get too attached to Lulzsec at this point, people. I doubt they'll even make it to trial when they get caught; just a bullet in the back of their heads and shallow unmarked graves in unknown territory.
2 new maps and 2 remastered KZ2 maps for a third of the price of 5 (new or remastered) CoD maps
or (if you don't have the previous packs)
4 new maps and 4 remastered KZ2 maps for a little more than half the price of 5 CoD maps
Very different from Activision.
A friend of mine has said that hackers now have turned on this Taliban-like mentality and could care less about the collateral damage.
They are not thinking in the long term at all. Future attacks on businesses are going to ramp up global government efforts to tone down internet rights. Even more so if they are successful and can take down a corporation like Sony.
When it comes to courts, who is going to get the better protection: corporate entities that han...
The people that are up in arms about this are insane. You actually think a majority of people that were excited about R3 are not going to buy the game because of an online pass? This system discourages you from buying it used, that's all. If you buy games in new condition (regardless of how much you pay for it) this doesn't effect you. I don't begrudge any company that tries to get some kind of money from used sales when they normally get none. Especially when Gamestop makes a ton...
