If you love Call of Duty and want EVERY SINGLE THING that is associated with that, then it is worth it.

If you (like me) are soured on the idea of playing Call of Duty ad nauseum for the unforeseeable future, don't care about the timing of map packs, cringe at the idea of paying a company for a service for ONE GAME, and plan on playing more than just said game for the next 12 months, this is not for you.

I know what Activision can do:

Use that map pack money to build a laser cannon that would carve the Call of Duty logo on the surface of the moon.

So people are sheep and do whatever celebrities and athletes tell them to do?

Kobe Bryant and Jimmy Kimmel were in the Black Ops ad campaign last year. Not out of the kindness of their hearts or their unwavering support of Activision and CoD. They got paid.

Dave Chappelle once said that he's done ads for Coke AND Pepsi and since Pepsi paid him most recently, it tastes better. And that's how the game goes.

Haters gonna hate.

But it doesn't mean they're wrong.

If their security was so weak, why did it take skilled hackers using multiple methods almost six years to crack?

5255d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

All of Sony's operations didn't operate under one security standard so after PSN went down, hackers went after everything Sony to kick them while they were down.

But, seriously, why did Stringer have to say anything about security? I bet hackers somewhere are hearing this and licking their lips as we speak.

Modern Warfare had a story.

Modern Warfare 2 had a jumbled mess that was all over the place with plotholes a mile wide. For instance, I liked that Captain Price was back but the idea that he was captured by the Russians with no explanation as to why irritated me a little. The airport level was powerfully intense...until you realized that you couldn't kill the terrorists who were shooting civilians and then you get killed, making you the biggest sucker in the game. And you...

MW3 needs a story now? I thought I was just supposed to buy it and play online?

Expect a trailer with some ridiculously macho song by whatever artist Activision thinks the kids are into (my money's on Eminem...again) over explosions and gunfire.

And the obligatory ad for Xbox...

I'm sure MS is pleased with losing ground in Europe, being last in Japan, and hoping the 8 million lead they have in the US over Sony will last forever. While MS and Sony battle it out in the US, Nintendo laughs at both of them.

There will be a price cut but I don't think it will be anything dramatic. If MS is trying to extend this gen as long as possible and still make a profit, price cuts will only take you so far. The Wii is the cheapest it has ever been at $150 yet sales are slowing for it. If 80 million units sold (which I think the Wii is at now) is the saturation point, both MS and Sony don't have too long before they hit that and price won't matter.

Like Nintendo, MS and Sony shou...

Kind of like how Activision loves Microsoft so much that all CoD footage is from the 360 version?

Not a chance that they are paying for that, right?

We get it.

Your up to date PC is better than 6 year old console tech.

Congratulations.

But Spec Ops is nothing new. It was in MW2 and now they tweaked it a little.

Just bought it on PSN which included the DLC, all for $15. Awesome game.

Anyone else find the term "fanboy" irritating and condescending?

5259d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Metacritc isn't the best indicator of quality because if it was GTA4 would be considered the best game of all time. It was well hyped, everyone rushed to buy it, and critics loved it. Yet it didn't take long for people to turn on it, saying it was overrated.

The Black Ops single player campaign sucked hard and reinforced that the Infinity Ward CoDs are far superior. This would bode well for MW3 if not for the fact that Infinity Ward is now a shell of its former self. ...

@ josephps3

What's funny is that even with the highest launch price this gen, bad multiplatform ports, and no games the PS3 is selling faster than a system that came out a year earlier (even longer in some regions) with no competition.

My shelf of BluRay movies enjoys the PS3 just fine.

Ask the people who paid for the 360's HD DVD drive about what is really unnecessary.

@Solo227
Sony did originally want you to watch hard drive content in Home.

However, not everyone puts legally acquired videos on their hard drives. And the idea of people in Home watching pirated movies and porn (which would undoubtedly happen) would put Sony in an awkward position.

If the kid was playing a game that involved shaking babies, then maybe I could see some correlation here. But a kid was frustrated and shook a baby; it has nothing to with the fact he plays video games. He could have been building a ship in a bottle and had the same reaction.
