@Ulf
I was using this list which shows 7:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
But at the bottom it lists 14:
• Brownie Brown
• Creatures Inc.
• EAD
• HAL Laboratory
• Intelligent Systems
• Monolith Soft
• Nd Cube
• NSD
• STC
• ...
According to wikipedia, Microsoft has 11, many of which are working on Kinect and untitled projects. Nintendo has 7.
MS releases at least 2 new sku's every year. We still have the Gears, CoD, and Star Wars Kinect skus to look forward to this year...
I blame the combination of being crazy and easy access to firearms/explosives.
I would think they would be more worried about the Norway shooter saying he was using MW2 as training for a war against Islam.
$40? This is an Activision game we're talking about.
I'm confident that site would make its way into my bookmarks...
I'm just waiting for Activision to announce they are shutting down the CoD4 servers.
Now THAT will be a shitstorm.
It's funny that I enjoyed the game even though I knew the twist of the second game when I was playing the first one 2 years ago.
His comments had nothing to do with Battlefield 3 or Twisted Metal, per se. What he's saying is that the press and consumers are putting too much emphasis on graphics instead of gameplay and he makes a good point. People see a few screenshots and they are over the moon.
All he's saying is a game can be sold on graphical hype alone but we don't know if the game plays well until you have it in your hand and THAT is where the hype should be coming from. It doesn'...
No...just...no. Hackers were looking to hack the SYSTEM not the NETWORK. There are a bunch of reasons why it could have happened but truth is, we won't know why PSN got hacked until they catch the people who did it.
@TheDareDevil
Halo 3 was released 4 years ago. GT5 came out 8 months ago and currently has about half the sales of a game that was released in 2007. That's nothing to slouch at.
Socom 4 flopped because of the combination of the PSN outage and the large number of April releases. Didn't stop me from buying it though. However, I've seen worse games sell better.
The game will probably do about the same saleswise as Killzone 2 when it's all said and done. Don't forget Killzone 2 was hyped and anticipated for years before release.
Probably closer to launch. Game comes out in October so they have some time...
It has nothing to do with brand loyalty. The people that make the games you buy get paid when you buy it new. When you buy used, only the person/company you bought it from gets the money.
As for the other used markets, cars, clothes, furniture, and books eventually deterioriate over time and can't be resold endlessly. Games can not only be resold endlessly, they also provide free access to online services that the developer has to pay for.
People want to play games at cheaper prices but don't want to want for the price drop. The industry is saying you can't have it both ways anymore: either buy the game new or wait. That solves everyone's problems. If you wait a few weeks, prices go down. Simple as that.
If it's a game you really want, why wouldn't you support the people that made it?
I do think that the game industry needs to change tactics. Add more incentives to buying ...
They're going from making console games I don't buy to making casual games I don't play. It's more of a lateral move, really.
As long as it's not "Super Mario Bros" awful...
*shudder*
Netflix just added the entire Spider-Man and X-Men series from the 90s on streaming.
I'm not going anywhere. Even with 1 Disc out at a time, it's cheaper than cable (which I also have).
