Yeah I hear you... believe it or not it took me playing the now very popular DayZ mod for ArmA2 to realize that PC gaming is the best gaming alternative for the hardcore gamer.
DayZ is the best gaming experience I've had in very a long, long time!
On the contrary, as a gamer that's been gaming since the 80's, I'm giving up the next generation of consoles & going back to PC gaming!
I'm tired of:
*DLC (I rather the community mods to keeping a game fresh)
*easy peasy, casual gameplay that holds your hand continuously
*consoles being outdated before they're shipped
*having to pay $10 more per game for console licensing fees
*multiplayer gaming with a higher pe...
Great post colonel179, I agree with you 100%! This topic among other glaring issue with consoles, is the reason why I'm skipping the next generation of console & sticking with PC gaming.
The good news about PC gaming is that some devs allow the community to mod their game, so the lasting appeal is much greater than that of consoles.

If graphics is all you care about, then just stick with BF3 & Crysis! Graphically they are tops and there's no need for you to look at ArmA3 then! You will not be happy... problem solved.

There is an easy fix for the issues you mentioned... Stick to BF3 then, sounds like this game is just not for you.
Others like myself are going love playing this game and couldn't care less about the issue you have with the game.
BTW... BF3 looks better because they don't have to worry about the scale & scope of ArmA3. You can take all the BF3 maps (dlc included), drop it into the A3 map and you still have 90% of A3's one map ...

I agree with most of what you said, however you have to admit that an overwhelming majority of COD players are impatient. I've tried to get players to slow down, think a bit & try to use a bit a teamwork. No dice (no pun intended), for the most part they want nothing to do with that, they're happy just running around aimlessly shooting everything is sight, while getting flanked from behind. @JOY... on the flip side, I have nothing against COD! I'm no fool & know that MW3 will crush BF3 in sales and I'm hoping the COD fans stick with their franchise! Both games play very different and the last thing I want to have is a team fully of COD players, playing as individuals & putting stats before team objectives (basically throwing tactical gameplay out the window).
So again I say I hope MW3 sells through the roof to keep the gamers with short attention...
Agreed! What they showed was decent. However I would like to see what the combat is like... if it's the same old auto aim when pressing the fire button, it'll be a big disappointment!

The squad shooter actually began with the original Rainbow Six, it was made by the amazing team at Red Storm Entertainment.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft bought them and the Tom Clancy license... and the classic squad shooter started it's decline, until Zipper revived it with the Socom series.

WOW... 3hrs? I wonder if you could post your internet speeds? I was in the beta since day one, however I downloaded the beta on my 2nd PS3 at the end of week 3 (Kz3 voucher)... it took me 20mins and my connection speed is 10MB down & 1.6MB up.
My little brother & nephew both downloaded it the 1st day it was open to the public and it only took them 35mins with 5MB down & 800kb up!
