I downloaded the latest version of Skype for a customer, just last week. Going to the website forces you back to the Modern UI's MS store to download it. Then when you execute it, it goes into this full screen Modern UI... compared to my Win7 compact version, it's really horrible.

I disagree that Win8 is the best OS MS has ever made... Win7 is!
Working exclusively from the desktop is not entirely true... have you tried using Skype from the desktop? It can't be done! Or try apps that are specifically made for the Modern UI interface... again, it just can't be done.
The major reason Win8 is faster than Win7 is that removed the cpu/gpu intensive Areo, along with other tweaks.
I'm probably around the 200+ mark...

ArmA 3 is the one game I really can sink my teeth into! It's a game that has a plethora of other free games within the game... via modding community. As well as other moddable games such as Skyrim, GTA 4 and a number of games that allow modding. For the cost of my initial purchase, I get endless amounts of experiences for my dollar. Something the consoles just can't do!

Bohemia's sales strategy is a smart one, no gimmicks. They just allow their community to help out the development of the game! There are already tons of mods and addons for the Alpha, it's mind boggling!

@Yi-Long, I see we are of the same mindset, that's exactly what I do/have done this gen. I'm actually not going to buy any next-gen console for a while (if I do at all), until I get a good idea of the structure & content pricing.
Right now I'm having too much fun with ArmA 3 & PC games in general.

The ArmA 3 Alpha is the bomb! Man.... it's been my most anticipated game for about 2 years now. The game is AWESOME, even with the minor bugs.
I play the Marina TDM mission all night last night and man I had a blast! It reminded me of the old Socom II days.

There are very few games out there that have the value and lasting appeal as ArmA does... actually I put Half Life in that category as well.
Those 2 games plus Quake have the most mods of any games, since the inception of gaming.

The only reason FC3 & AC3 are good is because of the modding community that mods the crap out of those game, the texture packs that the modders made are what makes them look so good! Ubi created an ok ports and the modders made them much better.

You obviously don't realize the numbers that PC gamers are putting up. People don't seem to realize that PC gamer numbers are rising like crazy.
I've built more PC gaming rigs for my personal customers in 2012 than in the previous 3 years put together. I've seen the growth first hand!
