Honestly, I hope this game never gets made. Last of Us was a great, stand alone story and trying to add to it or go back and explore a backstory that doesn't need to be explored would just lessen it. Leave this game alone and focus on a new IP.
I don't blame them. It'd cost a lot of money and time for something that still hasn't proven it's not a fad that'll fizzle out in 2 or 3 years.
Because games can't be beaten in two hours anymore and there's no need to pad out the game length by limiting lives and having people restart from the beginning. Personally I'm very glad games have moved on from punishing difficulty, they're much more fun to play that way.

Yep. True diversity means writing flawed minority characters, not just having them be "sorta bad, but with a white male nearby to be the *real* bad guy". If someone doesn't care about the story they shouldn't be playing certain genres. Period. Not everything needs to be watered down to try and appeal to everyone. If someone just wants gameplay, there are a million FPS's and MMO's and action games and racing games and dungeon crawlers and strategy games and cell phone time wasters out there. RPG's shouldn't appeal to gamers who don't want story. RPG's are all *about* the story.
