Ah, forgot about Last Guardian. The VR games aren't very impressive, though. At least the ones they've showed off so far. Batman VR is an hour long "experience" (read: tech demo) and the Final Fantasy thing is basically just a light gun experience in VR with occasional breaks to ride in a car and stare at a sexy character model. The Resident Evil VR--which again doesn't come out this year--reportedly made people sick when they played it. The VR was the weakest part of th...
Maybe if more of those games were coming out this year. The only exclusive they showed that even has a release date is Horizon, which is early 2017. A lot of cool stuff, but not a lot to look forward to anytime soon, sadly.
Because, from what I understand, in order for a game to run in VR it basically needs to be rendered twice, with a much higher framerate than most console games try to go for. Since even the PS4 occasionally struggles to run certain games at 60fps, it makes sense that it would need upgraded processing power to run VR games, especially ones that are actual games and not just hour long VR "experiences". I could be wrong about some of that, but I know the framerate thing at least it tru...
So, reading the tea leaves, this almost certainly confirms the Neo is going to be mostly for VR, right? More like a 32X or a N64 memory pack than whatever the hell it is MS is doing with its "beyond generations" thing.
As long as it was a choice like Dishonored 2 and not "we're taking away your ability to play as the real main character of this game because we want a female lead at all costs" it might not be a problem. I dunno how a co-op Zelda game would work, though. Maybe a spin-off series with different mechanics?
No. Zelda games are about Link. If you want a similar game with a female lead nothing is stopping you, or anyone else, from making a new IP, but I hate "we have to erase all men and replace them with teh wimmenz!!" mentality. Or, if we do that, then the reverse needs to be possible too. Why not a Tomb Raider with a male lead? (Because we already have Uncharted, which was a brand new IP that took off. Funny how that can work, right?) Or a Fear Effect with a male lead? Or Cooking Mama...
Exact same thing they said about the Wii U, which ended up with almost no third party support. JFC, Nintendo, do you never learn?
There are always going to be people who prefer to game on consoles over PC, just like there are people who would never buy a console. As long as Xbox games are exclusive to Microsoft platforms, Microsoft will be making money and will sell either consoles or Windows 10.
My point is Kojima has a history of trickling out information for games that are years away from being released. He hasn't even chosen an engine for this game yet, so there's no point in getting hyped for this until we have a release date.
I don't give a crap about anything but a release date. I've done the three+ years of hype and ravenously devouring every scrap of information revealed thing with MGS5. I know better now, and I refuse to care about anything Kojima related until I know when I'm going to get to play it.
Blaming violent video games *anywhere* is a cowardly move because violent video games have absolutely nothing to do with real world violence, and they never have. They're just an easy scapegoat so people don't have to ask uncomfortable questions about the real reasons for terrorism and mass murder.
Oh look they're finally putting Sasha in the game, that only took them about two years.
Hopefully the gay male romance options are better than " moustache guy with daddy issues" and "giant humanoid ox" this time around.
If a person cares about graphics above all else of course they're going to game on PC. The graphical capabilities of PCs will always outstrip consoles, and they'll probably be cheaper to upgrade too. As much as I hate the idea of mid-gen console upgrades, Microsoft has the right idea here. A high end console for people who will never be PC gamers and every exclusive also released on PC (presumably with cross play/buy) so they can offset potentially low console sales (low being relativ...
Europe is a wasteland of censorship and PC bullshit. At least in the US we have the first amendment to, theoretically, protect us from this crap, but I'm pretty sure we'll see that torn to shreds within the next 30 years or so. The world sucks right now for people with common sense.
Good, make the weebs pay for their moonspeak.
That whole second half hour was boring, honestly.
Wrong.
It won't just be a graphics update. Look at the difference between the 360 version and the X1 version of every cross gen release. Either the 360 version is inferior, with lower graphics and missing/hamstrung features, or the X1 version is held back. This is exactly what will happen with the X1 and the Scorpio.
Gag. Not a fan of this at all. Original Xbox One will get left behind no matter what Phil claims. It's either that or the Scorpio will be held back by it. Terrible idea.
Final Fantasy XII and Nier are 2017, actually, and Dreams doesn't have a release date. Nioh and Gravity Rush 2 are both "TBA 2016" which could mean a higher potential for a delay or they're saving it for TGS, but both of those would have been nice to reveal a release date for at E3 if they have one.
