So, I never say this, but...get good, loser. The whole point of the game is to get you to interact with other people. It's a social game. They've been pretty clear about that since they first starter revealing more information than "look at our pretty water". Also, like people have pointed out already, weapons have no stats. You're all on a level playing field. Get better at not dying and you won't die.
It's funny how, five or so years later, the only people who keep bringing up GamerGate are the ones who tried to silence everyone involved with it when it first started. I guess writing constant "articles" whining about diversity isn't bringing in the clicks like it used to.
I have a lot of problems with Ubisoft as a game developer but this is nothing but good news. Glad they finally got this sorted out.
My impression (based off two hours of gameplay so take it with as many grains of salt as you want) is that it's an amazingly fun game when you're playing with people you know, and very hit or miss when playing with strangers.
Keep in mind pretty much any android tablet technically offers the full PC experience, so that doesn't really mean much.
I'm still wary of the crowdfunding aspect. This thing already seems too much like another Ouya.

It's still in early access and it's improved since launch. It'll get there. People just need to be patient and remember that early access doesn't give you a finished, polished product.

Lucky for you, physical media is going to be around for a while yet. You know how you can tell? Because despite the massive popularity of streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime, DVDs and blu-rays are still sold in stores. This all digital nightmare where, maybe once or twice a year, people can't access their games because of a glitch or outage that is usually fixed in a matter of hours won't come to pass for a long time yet, if ever in our lifetimes.
