That's a very 'selective' way of remembering what happened this gen.
The PS4 launched with 8GB of GDDR RAM
The XBox One launched with 8 GB of GDD3 split with an eSRAM. Fundamentally different RAM setups unlike what we have here for the PS5 and Series X which both use 16GB GDDR6 RAM.

The PS4 had a 40% percent advantage over the XBox One, not a mere 15%.

lol, because it's missing the all super important extra 1.7 TF, right...?

It's amazing how you can rightfully perceive that SSD is indeed a very important part of the next-gen experience by the fact that both Sony and MS went to great length to integrate it into their respective consoles. And you again rightfully deduce that even with a 120% disadvantage, the Xbox won't be completely left behind in that department. But how come a 120% difference won't matter much, but a mere 14-17% will?

It's like people who see a supped up Corvet...

The more stuff I read from you, the more 'trollish' you come off. Do you realize that GT Sport was released in October 2017? Meaning that in less than 2 years on the market, it has already sold an estimated 8 million copies...And do you realize that all three other GT games you've listed have had at least 5+ years of sale each??? Smh...

Anyways, this is going to be yet another 10+ million entry for the GT series when it's all said and done....

I'm sorry I can't agree with that. Now, I am one who normally stays away from convos like this on N4G because often times the thread derails into insanity, so this may be my first and only reply on the topic.

I don't think her sexual preference matters unless the game's story includes some sort of romantic angle. And without that, then ...

I agree with the sentiment that PSVR will NOT be the main reason why Sony wins next gen (if they win). But keep in mind PSVR is launched on Oct 2016, that’s less than full 3 years ago. The PS4 launched in Nov 2013.

Also, the PSVR is a peripheral, launched at $400 and $500 for the bundle. A fun exercise would be to try and come with a list of 20 games released since October 2016 (at $60)on competing consoles ( XBox One and Nintendo Switch ) on that have sold better than the...

When I say that VR is still in its infancy I am speaking in terms of market and affordability. Surely Yahoo Messenger and AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) and MySpace existed before Whatsapp, Snapchat, and Facebook, but looking back you can tell that social media as we know it was still in its infancy as it was as integrated into our lives as it is now.

The first consumer ready wifi product was released in 1997: “The first version of the 802.11 protoc...

You do make some valid points. I think that kids below a certain age should not have access to VR because, with almost everything in life, there are pros and cons. We as a species haven't had enough time using VR to know the long term effects and this is something that should be tracked and studied carefully.

But to your point on surgeons passing grades and failing practicals such as sewing, etc I kinda want to respectfully challenge tha...

I agree with some of your points here. But I still think that VR is still somewhat in its infancy and won't be the major factor as to why PS5 will succeed over others.

I think that VR will truly start to shine as we get deeper into the Gen coming up. Because when next Gen gets here, people will be all caught up with the new shiny graphics. And as the gen wears on, people will get over the graphics and actually want new ways to experience new ways to play and experience...

@PlatinumKing

I disagree with the overall takeaway from the article. If Sony wins next gen, PSVR will NOT be the biggest reason why because VR is still a few ( 2 or 3 more) iterations away from actually being optimal for everyday gaming purposes.

But I can't agree with you when you say that you think that VR will never beat traditional TV and Joypad way. As a matter of fact, I would even go further and say that in 10 years time (2029) it will almost ...

One company knew that they wouldn't "let on to what the spec of its next console would be" like you said, and that company just had a simple regular interview for that purpose.

Another company hyped up E3 having everyone believe that it was going to be this huge thing, only to announce the EXACT same thing that another company announced almost 2 months before. Almost word for word.

Gamers: Hey Microsoft, why should we consider buying your...

That XBox Scarlett reveal was so unnecessarily cringy. It's like Microsoft really, REALLLY, desperately want that good old "gaming money" but are so clueless on how to go about it. It was like watching a visual presentation of the interview Mark Ceny did for PS5. Almost word for word. lol

You actually have some really great points about female aggression being overlooked and the astonishingly high rate of depressive episodes from teenage girls. You are also being spot on about boys being overmedicated. And there are very CLEAR double standards in regards to certain feminists views point of views that I myself have been a victim of. So I'm with you on those points...

Let's see if you keep that same energy when Microsoft makes their announcement at this year's E3.

To me, and I'm sure to Sony as well, it would make absolutely zero sense to make any big announcements in March with State of Play specifically because they're skipping E3 this year. Why would Sony show their hand this early? It makes so much more sense to use this "calm before the storm" opportunity to highlight their commitment to PSVR and get it people excited about what's in the pipeline for it. E3 normally tends to overshadow anything that's not super mainstrea...

Don't worry too much about Atom666 as it is quite easy to spout nonsense when one does not really understand the topic being discussed. The sentence you quote from him could be used to downplay almost every game released this generation. Let's have a go at it:

Original sentence "Myself and 90 million other PS4 owners just haven't chosen to buy into PSVR for one reason or another. VR in general hasn't exploded like some t...

The PSVR is averaging roughly about 2 million and change units per year. To put this into context, that 12% of PS4 sold per year as the PS4 is averaging about 17-18 million per year. So don't buy into that whole nonsense of "only 4 percent of the ps4's owners", unless it only took the PS4 just a little bit over 2 years to sell 96 million units.

Another context: It took the ps4 5 years to sell 6 million units in the UK. Let that sink in... 2629d ago 26 agree4 disagreeView comment
