Option A:
Use PS4's enormous success and momentum (45+ million PS+ members, 110+ million PS4, 6-7 million PSVR, 1.2+ Billions games sold and counting) to your advantage which will allow you to price the PS5 aggressively and offset possible losses.

Or the very tempting and Oh-so-rewarding Option B:

Where you cannibalize your best selling ip (20+ million) in TLoU. While you're at it, also cannibalize all the potentials of Ghost of Tsushim...

If their marketing was going "EXTREMELY WELL" as you put then we would have the metrics to back it up, right? I mean, it's not like the old days where we would simply guess at the reach of marketing tactics. Nowadays, we have social media outlets which give us a pretty good idea of what's popular/trending/viral, etc. In other words, what is effective and to what degree when compared to your competitors.

For instance, the Road ...

Yea man, I agree completely. Feudal Japan would have been brimming with skyscrapers and night clubs at every corner.

I guess "winning" means having even your own fans beg and beg your competitor to reveal their product after you've already shown yours. It's almost as if they innately know that no matter what, next-gen doesn't really start until Sony says so.

45+ million PS+ subscribers and counting. 110+ million PS4s and counting. Over 1 BILLION games sold and counting. This is all before TLoU part 2 hits, a game that has sold 20+ million, and the PS4 is still reta...

It doesn't matter if it's dynamic 0.053p running at 0.0000045 FPS with whatever other bullsh!t spec you might want to spout in an attempt to downplay it. Because what my eyes just saw is downright SUPER IMPRESSIVE! And 1080p, 4K, 2K, 0.5K doesn't have a single effect on that at all.

Not once during the video did I stop and go "but is it running @ 4k?". Not once...

I agree man. Or just imagine what this does for a co-op horror game in VR. Just imagine "A Quiet Place"-like game in VR where sound is critical and you actually have to watch your steps when there are debris on the floor (such as empty bottles or cans, etc)that could make noises which could mean death, lol.

You don't have a map, or a HUD really. And you have mostly rely on your sense of sight and hearing

I think that Microsoft has definitely beat Sony in that department, to be honest. Back-compatibility is an essential part of bridging your current customer base to the upcoming gen and MS has gone the extra mile in that department. So the fact that they have got Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games to work on the Series X is quite awesome.

But the vast majority of PS4 owners don't care about BC (back-compatibility) on XBox because it's not like they can bring their PS4...

Yeah.. From what I'm reading in a few other forums (Resetera and others) he might have violated some sort of NDA or getting doxxed, or both...

Personally, I really hope it's the latter (getting doxxed) because violating an NDA is no joke. We're talking about losing your career and being sued in court for serious money. So things might have gotten quite serious for him.

But if he violated some NDA then that would also validate a lot of what h...

@Destiny1080

What are you even talking about?

What you're saying would only make sense if Sony as a company, had extensive experience designing and making electronic hardware for years and years. But that's not the case here. Sony is a brand new and unproven company that has no clue what they're doing, especially in the gaming industry.

This will be their very first console ever, and I don't foresee them doing well in ...

You asked a rational question and I gave you a rational answer.

"If you are satisfied with a console (500$-600$ maybe) which shows 4K look a like, fine. I would like to get real, native 4K."
-- If I can't tell the difference between the 2 of them with my own 2 eyes, then I am buying the cheaper one.

Whoa! if that true it'd be kinda cool. But it would have been better as a surprise instead of being leaked early.

It also makes a lot of sense to sell it as a stand-alone to keep the cost of the console down because some people would probably prefer a lower entry price, instead of having to pay more for it but only because a more expensive controller (which they may not care for) is included in that price.

Then again, this could just be another rumor...

About that video, I've seen on the first day that it came out. I think that he presented his arguments quite nicely. But here's what someone who's more knowledgeable had to say about it (it's long, sorry):

" There are some good thoughts but, despite protesting that he doesn’t care about who “wins” he also leans in just previously to say that he thinks Sony has won the console war with their SSD solution. That’s not exactly dispassion...

His math is certainly wrong. I have limited knowledge so don't take my words as Gospel or anything, but everything I have read about the Series X states that it has 13.5GB of RAM available for games. Of that 13.5GB, 10 GB is fast and 3.5GB is slower.

So he is flat out wrong there.

Meh, these articles are beginning to get a bit tiresome for me honestly. It boils down to this simple thing:

This current generation, all the talk was about true HD, as in 1080p at 30 or/and sometimes 60FPS. One console was to reach those targets more consistently than the other.

The talk of the town for this upcoming generation has been 4K @60FPS. From my limited understanding, it appears that BOTH consoles will be able to achieve this, easily too, I mig...
