seriously! nasim needs to be banned from this site. any and every contribution he makes is beyond stupid
as for the trailer, looks really good. i hope it plays as good as in they seriously fixed the game rather than making it look prettier
wish they showed some in game screen shots rather than prerendered videos or replays
maybe you missed the article the other day that stated EU is no longer Sony land, but have favored the 360 over the PS3 and has more sales as a region than the ps3. so, PS3 = JAPAN only now.
then again, no one expects a 13 yr old virgen like yourself who got his ps3 from mommy dearest to even admit that fact of being true
dream on brotha man! dream on! how's your only BD (free w/PS3 purchase) movie play?!
Forza >> GT
I hope GT5 steps their game up MASSIVELY since after FM2 they have a HUGE hole to fill.
And sorry, pretty graphics alone won't do it for me
1. Price of Software. The average consumer sees the price of SD DVD and HDM and asks himself if software cost of $5-25 more for HD is worth it for the same movie you'll watch once or twice.
2. Price of Hardware. An upconverting DVD player goes for about $100-150 meanwhile a regular DVD player can be had for $20. Then we look at the cheapest entry level HDM player = $300+ and average around the $500-600 range. That's a big investment for something that can result as a betamax pl...
Sony & the BDA paying for store promotions ;)
to 12.2, BD 'killing' HD DVD? FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR from it ;)
but I'll agree how Toshi isn't marketing HD DVD as much as BDA
exactly what i was thinking...
walmart is infamous for outsourcing to the lowest supplier. they are known to basically cut the costs from a vendor if they want to distribute their product in walmart stores. i have a feeling walmart isn't happy with the profit they'ld make off venturer and probably has something up it's sleeve
I had the chance to finally see this movie and thought it was horrible. It had it's moments but the impact of the first 2 movies made this one a bit... lackluster
It's no Transformers, I'll tell you that!
that nasim (and others) is strangely missing in action from this thread?!
:D
it'ld be a bigger blow than if the other way around. Why do I say this? Because we've already seen Para/Dreamworks and Warner go neutral at the 11th hour from HD DVD. This neutrality could also be a massive mess for BD as the masses will embrace HDM but look at pricing and see just about all BD players are significantly more expensive.
According to you, HD DVD is already dead. ;)
This Xmas07 season will show what's going to happen on whether or not dual formats will be the norm. To me, if they coexist (something I've mentioned a few times and was shunned since HD DVD is "dead") this is more of a loss to Sony since it's been estimated they paid quite a bit of money for studios to go exclusive/neutral, stores to promote, etc.
that when Sony does a free giveaway (launch PS3) promo they don't get bashed on but if Toshi does it's called desperate? seems to me that they knew they started late in europe and japan (japan only takes up less than 10% of all movie sales) and are clearly in it due to increased interested. in europe btw, it is harder to push HDM towards people.
besides, my hd dvd player can easily play any hd dvd movies around the world unlike your region coded BD disks and player which are l...
:(
Simple.
All current BD players on the market and ones out for Q4 (sans DENON since it's iffy if they release theirs or not) all are not upgradeable to the new yet delayed BD1.1 profile (thanks to BD having an unfinished spec. damn it! finalize it already!!) except for the PS3. Why am I going to spend more money for a player that is doomed to be obsolete? Sure you play the movie still, but what about all the cool features that comes with owning a BD format player?! I personally ...
That or you are buying into and feeding your own fanboy comments.
PS1 owner, PS2 owner, PSP owner, 1 of my TVs is a SONY, my alarm clock = SONY, My small room radio = SONY, lil sister's computer? SONY VAIO, in the market for = SONY PS3. as you were saying about biased views? No excuses, just facts without any brand loyalty. My wii collects dust unless I have people over, my 360 has already RROD on me, my PSP battery only lasts 30 minutes, lil sis' laptop had a faulty recalled b...
Hey fan tastic,
Why did Paramount go neutral last minute?
Why did Dreamworks go neutral last minute?
Why did Warner go neutral last minute?
Why did Fox go BD exclusive?
Why did Disney go BD exclusive?
I can keep going... you know what the same answer is?!
SONY PAID THEM! OMFGHI2U ;)
If a 360 owner is interested in HD DVD, the cheapest means to get into the HDM world is by getting the add-on meanwhile all PS3s already come with BD yet it's already proven the bluboys aren't buying bludisks like expected. What I mean is those who get the addon use it specifically for movies, but those who get a PS3 tend to use it only for gaming.
Guess what, I have a 360 but no add-on (HD-A2 for me) and am in the market for a PS3 not only for gaming but also for BD as I am neutral on...
HD DVD has 3 good weeks consistently and continuously improving across the board in terms of sales and all you see is all pro-BD news
BTW, this Target news is really old. Ironic how you don't see HD DVD fans asking how much BDA paid Target for the additional bluray promotion but ever since Para/DW went back to HD DVD exclusivity all you heard was about the rumored $150mil.
to 3, it's not 2:1, its 1.5:1 (60/40 split) and that's with BD having 10 times the players ...
since it took you some 6months+ to get your PS3 that you obviously backed beforehand in your fanboyistic ways, how many BD movies do you own to support the format you appear to toot your horn about?
I have a feeling it is the only 5 that came free with your PS3 purchase
:P
The bluboys are shaking in their boots.
Some fact, only preliminary TL51 spec sheet was approved by the forum. HD DVD hasn't approved the disk for the market yet. Fanboys are stirring up rumors over TL51 disks not playing in current HD DVD players but note that the HD DVD forum isn't stupid. If the disks don't play in Gen1 & Gen2 players they WON'T release it. All would be needed is a firmware update. BD fanboys, how's that BD1.1 profile gonna work on your nonupgradeable B...
Let's be realistic.
This 61-39 split of last week is proof alone. Sure they won another week, but by a very small margin. Factor in that far more PS3s were purchased over HD DVD players leads you to believe that most who buy the system is for gaming and not BD playing like Sony wished it to be. For the amount of players on the market over the competition (including PS3), for the previous 'lack' of studio support, for the aggressive marketing; the blu camp should be dominating ...
