To me, pretty much anything that has decent anti-aliasing looks better than anything on PS3/360, or any other platform that has rampant jaggies.

I simply cannot stand the sight of jaggies. PS4 and Xbox One should be able to eliminate this problem.

Steam Machines are nothing more than overpriced PCs, just like every other mass produced PC out there. The OS is the only thing about a Steam Machine that makes it somehow unique and it's available for free to anyone that wants to download it.

PCs and consoles have been coexisting for years, nothing's going to change that.

Don't confuse the N4G community with the PS4 community. In the real world all gamers tend to be open to enjoying gaming without freaking out about console war BS.

I've yet to meet anyone in real life that acts anything like so many of the N4G crowd. I guess that's what the internet is for though. Unfettered stupidity.

They both do both, so I feel like your math may be off a bit.

I've been using PLEX with both PS3 and 360 and there have been several instances of the PS3 blocking audio half way through a movie while the 360 plays the files just fine. Aside from that everything's been the same for me on both.

My comment applies to the comments you referenced as well. I've always found the "multi-plats don't count" argument completely silly, regardless of which fanboy is trumpeting it at the time.

As far as the Sony circle jerk comment, that's a reference to the current state of N4G. Sure, back in the early days of the PS3 it was a 360 circle jerk. It was pathetic then and it's pathetic now.

Apparently games no longer exist unless they're exclusive.

Not everything has to be a Sony circle jerk people.

I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one in the world that could see Joel's side of things. After finishing the game and listening to podcasts and reviews it seemed like everyone was pushing some serious Joel hate.

I always felt like there was more depth to the consequences at the end than a simple "kill Ellie/save the world" vs. "save Ellie/screw humanity" dillema.

I guess the notion that there was any way to actually sav...

I would have done the same thing as Joel. I loved every bit of the ending. Let my girl get chopped up to save a bunch of psychos that have been trying to kill me and rape her through the entire game? Hell no!

Maybe I read a little too much into the story but I never got the feeling that it made logical sense that Ellie was the only possible cure. I never believed for one second that there was any guarantee that cutting her head open would somehow create a cure that could be...

Imagine a system that is comparable in performance to its competition, along with a name that doesn't confuse consumers.

Somebody at Nintendo has been out of touch with reality for a long time. Nintendo's leadership is the core problem.

$100million for the entire franchise =/= $100million for a single game. Microsoft now owns the Gears of War franchise. All future games. A trilogy of games selling even 3 million copies each is easy money throughout this generation. If they don't crap all over the series like Judgement did they could sell a whole heck of a lot more.

I could also see Microsoft pumping out games in other genres set in the Gears universe as well. Something along the lines of Spartan Assaul...

Epic has been done with this franchise since before Judgement. Handing the reigns over to People Can Fly showed just how little Epic cared about pushing forward with any new Gears games.

Selling the franchise, to anyone, was about the only way another Gears game was going to happen. My piddly little opinion of course.

4446d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'm afraid there may not have even been another Gears if Epic had kept control of the franchise. It's obvious from what Judgement turned out to be that Epic isn't interested in focusing on Gears anymore. Exclusivity aside, I'm just gald there's going to be more Gears. Hopefully we'll see a return of Horde and Beast with enhancements.

@Magoo

Ryse was "sh!t" if your console of choice is metacritic. Actually playing the game will tell a different story. But to each his own I guess.

As far as variety goes, you can currently get puzzle, racing, FPS, action/adventure, family, fighting, and a crappy strategy/sim game on Xbox One. So you may not find any of those particular games to your liking but pretending that the Xbox One is a one trick pony is a little ignorant.

I'm gambling that I'll be able to play Destiny, Halo and Gears of War on my Xbox One. I think that's a pretty safe bet.

From what I've seen of the Xbox One and PS4 so far I'm really excited for this generation. The PS4's clear technical superiority is a good thing in my opinion, and should not be cause for division in the gaming community. I really like that both systems really do offer something unique beyond a few exclusive games.

4446d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Ryse is actually a really great game. It's loads of fun, despite the review hate.

I have a tendancy to play games before judging them rather than relying on reviewers to do my thinking for me.

There's simply no arguing that the PS4 is superior to the Xbox One after having witnessed both in action. That said, both consoles are huge strides above the 360/PS3 as evidenced by Ryse and Killzone. This generation is off to a great start.

I've been a PS+ member since the program began. The first couple years were kind of meh, in fact it felt an awful lot like wasted money (probably was). Then they started up the free games every month.

I've always paid the subscription fee. The only thing that's changed is that the perks have gotten continually better over the years.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, to someone like me, the games I get for paying zero extra dollars wi...

What hurts is when a company that makes "games as good, as polished and as long standing as Nintendo games" refuses to offer those games on competent hardware.

THAT is what hurts!

Wouldn't it be amazing if there were no need for the argument "graphics don't matter" to stand up for a Nintendo console? Yeah, I remember those days, it was the SNES and all that amazing gameplay was available in combination with glorious cutting edg...
