My theory would be that people have a tendancy to purchase the console that offers the games they personally want to play.
Millions of gamers enjoy Microsoft franchises like Halo and Gears along with every other multi-plat and several other upcoming exclusives that will be available on Xbox One. If the Xbox One were not demonstrably more powerful than the Xbox 360 I'd have second thoughts about purchasing one, but that's simply not the case.

N4G community:
If someone says that even a single Microsoft console has sold, ever, in the history of history (not merely shipped), they must be a Microsoft shill.
So choosing to hold off on releasing an update until it's finished is now an indication of Microsoft's ineptness? SMH
Oh N4G community, you never cease to entertain.
I know I know, "if it were Sony eveybody would totally be freaking out!!!111"
Fanboys are fanboys, it doesn't matter which platform they taint with their "support."
I'm all for a console getting better with age, but I'm hoping by "maturing" he doesn't mean eventually becomes a dated piece of tech that's heavily bloated with unnecessary applications that it was never originally intended to handle.
What gets me, right now, is that it seems like the Xbox One is missing some fundamental elements that the 360 naturally acquired along its lifespan, and even some things that were in the 360 from day one.

Prediction: The PS4 will have plenty of first and third party support for its entire life cycle which will continue to drive sales well after any launch hype is exhausted.
Wow, imagine if you directed your anti-Ubi logic in Nintendo's direction. You know, the company that refuses to allow any of their beloved franchises to experience life on competent hardware.
I definitely would have bought a WiiU if it had come out even as late as 2010. Right now consumers at large are interested in new tech, not a last gen console with moderately better specs. Third party developers have historically supported consoles that consumers are interested in....
"Personally; Watch_Dogs isn't my cup of tea. While it looks cool - it's not the type of game I'm into."
I believe this aptly describes Nintendo's target demographic and explains why the WiiU version isn't top priority.
For all their innovations over the years Nintendo has become a very narrowly focused company. It doesn't help that there are still die hard fanatics carrying the dated "graphics don't matter" ...
Good stuff. I can't wait for all three of these.
By that definition every comedian that has ever existed is 100% racist.
Read a dictionary.
rac·ism (rā′sĭz′əm)
n.
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
You can make fun of a stereotype without being racist. In fact, he may actually like the way some people prounce their...
Do you also consider the word Gojirra to be racist?
I really wish idiots would stop throwing around the word racist as if it means "said something I don't like."
Nothing beats the sounds of Battlefield. As much as I loathe EA, the idea of the audio tech behind the Battlefield series making its way to other EA properties has me quite pleased.
PS4 is technically more powerful than the Xbox One. To Sony fanboys this is an indication that the Xbox One is basically a worthless piece of crap.
So, to Sony fanboys, the PS4 is just above "worthless piece of crap" in terms of technical proficiency. That doesn't seem like much to be bragging about really.
In the real world, both the PS4 and Xbox One have massive potential. I'm really looking forward to what they both bring to the table...
I have a feeling people playing for enjoyment will end up spending more time with pretty much any game than someone that's playing through it to write up a report with a deadline.
I'm often annoyed by the Xbox One hate I see on this site. But that doesn't make me believe that a game running at 30fps automatically sucks when it happens to be a PS4 game.
There's nothing wrong with a steady 30fps on Xbox One, and there's nothing wrong with a steady 30fps on PS4. Fanboys be damned.
I can't wait until all this framerate flogging stops. The only thing anyone really needs to be concerned with regarding framerate is consistency, rather than dropping off randomly.
Nobody gave a crap about framerates until they became a platform for the console wars. What's truly "just sad" is how pathetic people sound arguing over 30fps vs. 60fps.
I've had a decent gaming PC for a couple years now and I've gotta say I'm not ...
I'm no fan of multiplayer. Co-op is always a good time, but the most memorable games I've personally played have been single player experiences with amazing stories.
I also don't need a 20+ hour game to be honest. Whatever the length of this game I hope it brings tight gameplay and a compelling story.
There will always be haters though, so I'm sure you're spot on when you say many are going to be upset. There's simply no pleasing e...
Spout off all the wikipedia references you want, try calling an HDD "memory" around anyone in the real world and you'll come off sounding ignorant.
I really have a hard time believing anyone at Konami would say testers could speed run through it in 5 minutes. Even if that turns out to be true, it'd be really stupid for Konami to make a statement like that.
If you're referring to a speed run time as your standard for game length you may want to revise the 2 hour length of this game down a bit.
"I am very much against microsoft and the xbone"
And what exactly does that achieve? Good grief, it's a gaming console, not the holocaust.
