"It would make the overall experience of this particular game in question better though, right? Being at 1080p instead of 900p."
Unless the framerate, AI, number of rendered enemies on-screen, any other visual effects, or any other gameplay factors have to take a hit.
If any game this generation can be substantially enhanced in multiple ways and the only sacrifice I have to endure is a minor drop in native resolution I'll be perfectly satisf...
I've never found much value in other people rating the quality of a story. For instance, pretty much every story told in every genre will have a host of people that call it crap.
There are so many factors that impact a person's enjoyment of a story that I doubt there has ever been much objectivity in the words "uninteresting story."
I'd call it a continued effort to improve the overall gameplay experience, but I guess we all have different ways to look at things.
"If you have the time to play all the games from all the systems, then more power to you. Get outside and do something with your life!"
If you really think yo have to have enough time to play "all the games from all the systems" in order to justify a purchase, wouldn't that same logic apply to buying even just one console?
There are clearly more games coming out than anyone has time to play, but that's no reason to assume a mul...
Just like the PS4 and Xbox One, the WiiU is a current gen console.
@Big_Game_Hunters
Or maybe accept that some people have different opinions about what makes for a more enjoyable gaming experience.
I've got a plenty capable PC gaming rig and I'd never recommend someone dump consoles for PC. It's way more streamlined an experience than it was back in the '90s, but it still brings tons of aggravation from time to time that you'll never see on console. It's a simple fact that so many PC gamers tend ...
I built my PC back in 2012 for PC games and graphic design use.
I bought my Xbox one for Xbox exclusives and to play with my friends that only play on XBL.
I bought my PS4 for all the other console games I care about and to play with my friends that only play on PSN.
It's funny, at no point did I think to myself that none of that mattered and I should just limit myself to one gaming ecosystem.
To each his own thou...
No.
Destiny could have been a perfect 10 and it wouldn't have lived up to the unrealistic hype/expectations. I really don't know what everyone was expecting from an online FPS with a few RPG elements added in.
I don't see it as a 9+, but I know plenty of people that have been having unending fun with the game since launch with no end in sight. I see validity in many of the complaints in various reviews, but overall this game is well above average if taken on its own...
I hit a similar situation with the enemy spawns. At the end of a strike we were getting spammed by wizards and knights endlessly. We couldn't even get to the main boss because there was a wall of majors stacking up in front of us to kill.
After we all finally died and restarted at the checkpoint only two wizards and two knights ever spawned.
I would submit that "fun" is the very definition of a good game. Otherwise wtf are we playing them for?
I'm having a blast with the game. It's extremely well polished. I honestly have very little to complain about.
I feel like too many reviewers are comparing the game to what they imagined in their heads rather than simply taking it for what it is.
The truth is, there are very few shooters out there that are anywhere near as polished as Destiny. From a pure gameplay perspective, Destiny delivers.
The story feels like a prologue to...
I think it would be wrong to give Best Graphics Technology to a PS3 game in a universe where PC gaming exists, but that happened. Who knows what backwards logic is used in these meaningless awards?
@dasbeer88
So anyone that agrees with you is reasonable, while anyone who disagrees with you is a crazed fanatic?
Way to summarize the situation while sounding like a complete tool.
I would love it if all life's disappointments were as enjoyable as Destiny.
"Apparently it wasn’t put in the graphics"
I always love this complaint. How much does a graphic cost exactly?
I wonder what percentage of the people rating the game a zero will end up having hours and hours of enjoyment playing it.
I like your goat. There, I said it.
"What a great way to insult, annoy and alienate the people that made the Wii sell so well."
The thing is, not a single casual gamer in the known universe will ever read or give a crap about any of the quotes in this article.
If N4G is an example of the gaming community it's pretty sad. I see a future of gameplay features being cut out by developers simply because the publishers are worried about sales being impacted if they don't hit the magical 1080p.
I really hope there are more people out there that understand the difference between visual fidelity and resolution than there are vocal 1080p fanatics.
