I just watched this review out of curiosity and I really was shocked to see that the entirety of it was spent complaining about the story and how there weren't enough female characters or female enemies to shoot. It might have been a good idea for the reviewer to just consider for a moment that they're talking about a video game and that the one defining characteristic of the medium that differentiates it from others is actual, you know, gameplay? Maybe talking about that would have b...

I can't decide if it's more hilarious or depressing that what you said actually is fact. Knowing that a high-end PC with incredibly powerful GPU/CPU can't run this anywhere near as smoothly as the Xbox One is just baffling, to be honest. I can't even figure out how something like that happens unless you intentionally go out of your way to make the PC version have poor performance, but it seems to be a common theme among these UWAs.

I was glad to hear that Micr...

@LucasRuinedChildhood

You make a good point about wanting to stick with the ecosystem that you spend most of your time and money with, but that's actually the reason I've started to move back towards PC.

Everyone is different of course but I've been a PlayStation fan since the original and I was used to every console coming with backwards compatibility (I bought the BC-capable PS3 a little while after launch) and basically knowing that my library ...

I'm not sure about the Tony Hawk games but I've always been disappointed that the Burnout and SSX games didn't come to PC. The exception is Burnout Paradise of course, which actually did come to PC and was a fantastic port, but they left the excellent Big Surf Island expansion as console-only and although I thought EA would have brought SSX (2012) over to PC to help bolster their Origin lineup, they never did.

I'll be glad once PS3/360 emulation is fleshed-out...

If Microsoft really wanted to compete with Sony and get a perk over the PS4, they'd make online multiplayer free and not require an Xbox Live subscription at all. I'd love to see that happen and hopefully force Sony's hand in removing multiplayer gaming from behind the PS+ paywall as well. Then we could all stop paying a yearly fee to use internet connections we already pay our ISPs for.

The whole controversy about this is ridiculous. The character is fully-clothed and isn't striking a provocative or sexualized pose. All the outrage over this is utterly stupid and I can't believe that Blizzard actually felt the need to address it. I could understand the complaints if the character was wearing a skimpy outfit and bent over suggestively, but she's literally just standing there with her back to the camera and glancing over her shoulder which is a common pose for both...

For me it's the Windows 10 requirement that's a turn-off. I would love to check this game out and buy it on PC but I don't want to jump from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and I don't want to touch any of this UWP nonsense.

It feels like one step forward and two steps back, in my opinion. Microsoft is being incredibly smart by putting their games on Windows because after all, it's their platform so it's a win/win for them whichever way you slice it, but I wis...

Yeah, just like Move & Kinect, and we all know how that turned out.

I was watching a 60fps stream of the PC version and it looked incredible. Makes me sad that I'll only ever play Bloodborne at 30fps and with all the framerate drops and framepacing issues that still plague the game to this day, since it would no doubt look just as incredible on PC as Dark Souls 3 does. Oh well, maybe Sony will rerelease the game at 60fps one day on the PS4.5 or PS5.

The problem is most of the indies that are actually worth playing were released years ago on PC. You could buy all of them for much less than the cost of a PS+ subscription whenever they go on one of the many sales that Steam has and unlike PS+ you actually own them. The fact Sony makes us pay a monthly fee to rent this stuff is disgraceful, and it all disappears the moment your subscription ends. Back in the PS3 days PS+ was an incredible service, but the whole thing has been a joke on PS4 a...

I agree with Pumblechook. The beta for the game was really fun and I had a lot of very entertaining and memorable matches. Despite the backlash against the DLC the game itself was designed incredibly well, was fun to play and had a lot of depth to it.

I actually regret not buying the game at launch when the playerbase was really active because I feel like I missed out after how enjoyable the beta was. Now it's too late to buy the game since the generous discount doesn'...

It's crazy to see just how many developers who were responsible for the PS3's excellent lineup of exclusives are no longer around, either by Sony just outright shunning them and causing them to leave, or just being shut down. You'd think that with the huge success of the PS4 Sony would be doubling-down and using this opportunity to really solidify and bolster their first-party lineup, but it looks like they're making the exact same mistakes that Microsoft made and turning to a...

Yeah. If they had any sense they'd just make Modern Warfare 4 because that's what everybody wants. Making a sequel to Ghosts sounds like suicide for Activision & Infinity Ward because nobody wants it. Really poor choice if this rumor is true.

If Sony really wanted to be the true home of fighting games and give us all something truly special, they'd strike another deal with Capcom but this time do so to fund a brand new Marvel vs. Capcom game.

It's an absolute tragedy that after so long waiting for a sequel to MvC2 we finally got MvC3 & UMvC3 which were amazing games, but they're relegated to last-gen consoles due to lack of backwards compatibility and are now only available via the used market sinc...

I think it's less that upgraded consoles will have better performance and more that the original hardware will have worse. If they start using the new hardware as the baseline, and developers continue to strive for the best graphics they can possibly achieve at 30fps, then where does that leave the original PS4/XB1? Games running at 20-25fps at 720p/900p?

I think it would be naive to assume otherwise, to be honest.

Who knows, but Tequila Works have just relocated to a larger studio and are hiring more staff, which is the exact opposite of what you'd be doing if your game was in poor shape or running into developmental problems. They could think that they have something really special here and want to push the game out to as many platforms as possible rather than being limited to Sony exclusivity, so they're reacquiring their rights and expanding to ramp up development.

Well gee, how about the way that you've got the rest of the shooter genre from COD to Halo trying their best to copy the movement mechanics and even developers like Naughty Dog are trying to integrate AI teammates into multiplayer following Respawn's innovation in that area? The impact of Titanfall has been huge.

Everyone's trying to copy Titanfall, just like everyone tried to copy Modern Warfare after that arrived on the scene. If you honestly can't see how t...

Yeah, I don't see how Titanfall can be considered a letdown when it revolutionized multiplayer games the same way that Modern Warfare did back in 2007. I still regularly play the game on PC two years after launch, and will continue to do so until the inevitable sequel, and have no shortage of people to play against. If anything, I'd say it's one of the healthiest online shooters of this generation aside from Black Ops 3, which hasn't been available for anywhere near as long. ...

The thing is that none of the PS+ games are free anyways. We have to pay a subscription fee to access these games and once our subscription ends we lose access to them. At the absolute most basic level, people are more than entitled to complain about the quality of the games that they're paying for. These games aren't free at all.

Like many other people, I'm only paying for PS+ because it's required for multiplayer. That's exactly why the quality of PS+ of...

Disgaea 3 has been fully playable in RPCS3 for quite a while now. I think it's one of the first games they got running at full speed?

The Xbox 360 emulator (I think it's called Xenia?) has made great progress as well, with some early 3D games such as Ridge Racer 6 working at full speed with minimal graphical glitches. I've seen footage of Catherine working well too, albeit with a lot more graphical weirdness, but gameplay was fine and full speed as well.
