I can't fault the AI personally, I think it's done very well and works perfectly for the design of the game itself. I don't really know how it could be improved.

The technical issues, though? Yeah, they're incredibly frustrating. The loadtimes are abysmal but they don't really bother me too much I guess, the main complaint I have is in regards to the framerate being so bad which just ruins the whole experience. The whole game is so janky/stuttery that it&#...

@Jalva

I see where you're coming from and I agree, this is the exact direction that I feared the industry would be heading in.

I recall seeing an article the other day that theorized there would be no PS5, and that Sony would instead move to providing games as a service as opposed to manufacturing hardware that it sells to customers, so we would instead stream games directly to our TV via software, rather than buy a PS5 console (theoretically).

Very shady, especially considering that when Dark Souls 2 launched they were advertising the game with gameplay footage that looked significantly better than the actual game. The severe graphical downgrade was bad enough, but still using that old footage to advertise their game? I'm surprised that there wasn't a lawsuit over it.

@ JoGam

I got a free copy of DriveClub with my PS4, sorry you're such a fanboy troll that you get overly defensive whenever someone points out inconsistencies between someone saying the game isn't broken and the people who actually made it saying that it is.

Sony and Evolution Studios have been lying then? How weird, I wonder why they'd do that?

3991d ago 4 agree19 disagreeView comment

All they've really done is add DLC to be honest. The game is still too broken to be released on PS+ for example, according to the developers and Sony themselves.

I'm pretty sure console lifecycles have been increasing consistently with every console generation? It seems that way, at least. PS2/XB/GC lasted longer than PSX/N64 era. PS3/360/Wii lasted longer than the one before it as well. Seems reasonable that PS4 and XB1 will last even longer, but who knows? I suppose it could be the same length or shorter perhaps, it's hard to say.

As for a remodeled Xbox One, I'd be pretty tempted to pick one up if they offered a model w...

I'm surprised that Battlefield is selling so well, it's definitely a shock to see it debut at the top when taking into account not only the disastrous launch of Battlefield 4 that I would have hoped would make people wary, but also the beta test for Hardline seemingly leaving a lot of people unimpressed.

I guess people flocked to buy the game regardless? On the other hand however, we all know that the Dark Souls games were niche titles, so perhaps it's not so surp...

I can't speak of the roots of the franchise since I never played SOCOM 1 or 2, but was the last game on PS3 really that bad? I saw a lot of the fans of the older games speak poorly of it back when it launched, but as someone new to the franchise I thought SOCOM 4 was incredibly fun and enjoyable to play. I was really disappointed when Sony shut down the servers for that game.

I was really impressed with that game on a technical level as well. The gameplay was enjoyable en...

I found Infinite's gameplay incredibly stripped down compared to all those gameplay trailers they showed before launch.

I was really excited for that game after they showed those huge areas and the dynamic gameplay with enemies calling in airships for support and the skyhooks getting pretty complex with how they twisted round the large environments.

The final game, though? It was just linear corridors and small little combat arenas. None of the things sho...

Neither console has had any AAA exclusives yet, but that will change when Uncharted 4 and Halo 5 drop.

That's not how the industry works.

You seem to be under the impression that everybody who works in game development is on contract-based work, which simply isn't true. A lot of people being fired were full-time employees. It is absolutely not normal to see people fired after a project is done or close to being done. In fact, it's not normal to see anyone fired at all. If a contract comes to an end the person isn't being fired, are they? Their contract is over,...

The video clearly shows penetration of the pig's anus accompanied by a large gush of blood. It looks like he went elbow deep at the very least.

GOTY.

I saw some gameplay footage of the Favela map from Modern Warfare 2 which was remastered and included in one of the DLC packs for COD: Ghosts. It looked really nice! Seeing the whole game get that treatment would be incredible.

I remember when The Order came out a lot of fanboys were insisting that all these reviewers hated Sony and were going to give Bloodborne bad scores as well. Looks like they were wrong.

Sony recently fired half the staff at Evolution Studios and mentioned the PS+ version as a priority in the announcement. I think they're going to keep Evolution Studios running as a skeleton crew until that's out then shut the studio down.

Kinda weird really, Sony's worldwide studios were the best during the last console generation but they've been hit really hard recently. First they had the huge layoffs at Sony Santa Monica, then they gutted Suckerpunch afte...

The industry is pushing hard to selling services instead, getting money every month/year instead of traditional business models where you buy a console and a game. Now you've got your PS+ subscriptions, your PSNow subscriptions, you've got the season passes and additional DLC, the microtransactions etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if they want that to replace consoles. Buy a $400 console at launch? Or buy a subscription for $100 a year instead, so greedy publishers ca...

You do know that Naughty Dog themselves came out and confirmed that they don't have two teams, right?

3999d ago 2 agree3 disagreeView comment

In other words, the "Naughty Dog multiplayer team" is working on Uncharted 4 multiplayer. I'm surprised these gaming blogs are still operating on the assumption that Naughty Dog has two full dev teams when they simply don't work like that at all. Naughty Dog works on one game at a time. There isn't an Uncharted team and a Last of Us team, only one team that works on everything. The people who handled multiplayer in Uncharted 2 also handled multiplayer in Uncharted 3 and ...
