It's hard to criticize COD for being the same rehashed crap when out of the games you mentioned:
-The 3rd Shenmue game
-The 5th Uncharted game
-A remake of FF7 (FF has been milked just as much, if not more than COD)
-The 10th Halo game (maybe more?!)

Well with smash hits such as Onechanbara Z2 and J-Stars Victory Vs+, it looks like those of us with PS4s are in for one truly spectacular 2015. I can barely contain my excitement.

Well I wish Sony would let me play my old PS3 games on my PS4, so I have nothing but envy for Xbox One owners. They're getting native backwards compatibility with no fees. They won't have to rebuy games they already own or pay subscription fees to stream them, so it's hard to twist something like this into anything other than something awesome for people who own the console.

If you really want to play this then maybe check out Nuclear Throne? It's been out on early access on Steam for a while now and seems to have heavily influenced Enter the Gungeon. It's basically the same kinda game but done really well, it's incredibly fun.
I'm pretty sure that Nuclear Throne is coming to PS4 eventually as well, but controls best with a keyboard and mouse in my opinion.
Yeah, I know what you mean but I'm still holding out faith since there have been examples of other developers realizing when they took a wrong turn and righting their path in future titles. I think it's 50/50 whether we see something more traditional or not. Perhaps they might surprise it and take us in another direction entirely? What we saw was great but I was really hoping that we'd get to see some multiplayer footage as well.
I was disappointed in the initial Uncharted 4 gameplay reveal and agreed with the people who viewed it as a downgrade from what was initially shown with the explicit claims of being "in engine" and misleading people.

This is how you reveal a game. No BS "pre-rendered in-engine" nonsense with quicktime events and cutscenes or a focus on whatever terrible story. Just a 10 minute slice of pure gameplay that looks genuinely fun to play.
Yeah, that was horrible and really disorienting. The graphics seem good but everything else just looks terrible.
I'm wary of Dark Souls 3. The game will have Miyazaki directing but is releasing only a year after Bloodborne? I can't help but wonder if this is a rushed project. The screenshots also look nowhere near as good as Bloodborne either, which is disappointing. It's reasonable that multiplatform development could be the reason for the game being less impressive, but something seems really off with how quickly they're getting this out the door.
The problem isn't so much that Sony lacks big games, but more that they inevitably end up getting delayed and only release in Spring.
Sony really needs to start putting out games during the holiday season like Microsoft does, because it sucks seeing Xbox owners get 4 or 5 huge AAA exclusives while those of us with a PS4 maybe get an indie game or two.

Honestly, weighing up the exclusive lineup and announcement of backwards compatibility has me considering an Xbox. If they announce some good stuff throughout the rest of their conference I'll probably start looking at what bundles are available when the next sales hit.

A huge chunk of so-called PS4 exclusives are available on PC/PS3/Vita yet people still count them as exclusives, so I doubt Xbox One games coming to PC is really a very big deal at the end of the day. It's just extra sales and more customers, isn't it? Personally I'm dying to play Sunset Overdrive, so I hope it comes to PC if it isn't gonna be released on PS4.
