Yeah but they've also accordioned out that racing stripe to get an extra inch or so haven't they? and lets be honest, the PS5 "slim" is also almost as big as the OG PS5
@VenomUK not you haha, "the worst". Sorry I should have been more clear. You've had some fair takes as far as I can tell. Certainly not inane anyway.
Edit: Or is this you saying "the worst" is your troll account?
Interesting account. Posts a few comments every year or two just to rage and sling inane insults and Sony fanboy nonsense, but dates back over 15 years. Who's alt account is it? 🤔
Agree. There's definitely a bit of a trade off, particularly the heavier you lean on it. It's just one that's often worth it. But yeah. Even DLSS. They're all using temporal data to antialias. There WILL be issues with semi-transparent moving particles, reflections and whatnot where the motion vectors aren't perfect. It's not magic.
Reflex works without frame gen though, so it still feels snappier and more responsive to turn off frame gen. But if you really don't care then I suppose it's fine. I kind of feel it's a bit redundant personally. You need to have a pretty decent frame rate for frame gen to work well and not feel sluggish, even by Nvidia's admission. but if you're getting 60fps already then why bother you know? And it's not free, there's overhead to the GPU, so you're impacting t...
Black flag was okay. Still very much the same game as all the rest with all the same copy pasted challenges in different locations we've come to know and hate about Ubisoft games though.
Yeah I don't get the logic at all for Xbox the last couple gens. Good for me I suppose, I don't have to buy a superfluous bit of hardware, but I don't get it from their perspective at all. Sony is walking a fine line atm too, but they're keeping *just* enough behind a 2 year delay to warrant owning a Playstation if you also own a PC, and if you're a FOMO type getting it first is important. Also they've kept GT off PC, which is very smart. Pays to have at least 1 or 2 f...
Even if the Pro initially sells well. There's always people that'll buy the expensive thing even though it's too expensive. Just like people paying full price preordering anything. It's once the whales and are milked that we'll see what demand is like. It certainly won't live up to the PS4 Pro demand anyway.
*grabs popcorn*
This place is largely for Sony fanboys. YT is what the general population thinks. Don't worry I thought the same. Pretty smart move by Sony though, they down-sold me to a PS5. Not so coincidentally it's on sale at the moment for under half the price of a PS5 Pro. I'll keep the extra to upgrade my PC when the time comes.
There's a fair bit to hate about big corporate game companies
AC Shadows is getting absolutely roasted in Japan. They hate it. It's nothing to do with the Ghost game they were already cancelling their shows everywhere before it was announced.
Yeah they promised 8K on the OG PS5s box too haha. As soon as anyone starts talking 8K you know they're kind of full of shit. For Nvidia it was the trashiest muddiest new quality mode of DLSS they'd just introduced when they were harping on about it for the 3090 (8K upsampled from a 1440p or something). Going to guess we're talking similar shenanigans here when it comes to GT7
Ah yes. The infinite combinations of media for PC. Digital only. While I get the jist of what you're saying PC is an open platform where you've many options for if say a developer or publisher decides to try and screw you out of a game you own, all the pitfalls of digital only are largely avoided on PC. Game preservation (for not just PC games) exists on the PC. Someone shuts down your servers? There's a patch for that. Someone removes your game from your library? There'll be ...
Ignored? They've sold twice as many consoles as Sony. It's not even close. even if you take away Switches head start and line up the launches it's still about 9 million in front. Software as well. It's only now that it's closing on 8 years old (and was always weaker hardware to begin with) that it's starting to tail off and that will probably be addressed by the new one.
The Switch's lifecycle is basically 2 generations though, since they cut the WiiU's life short and ported most of those games over. So in the context of what else was going on from 2017-2024 it's not really been better than Sony's output. Although I must admit I'm way more into Nintendo's game design philosophy overall.
Well yeah that SSD is just Gen4 speeds anyway, not even full gen4 speeds, around 5500MB/s I believe. but it's got some neat on the fly compression that gives you the *potential* for higher throughput, which gives fr0sty something to talk about I guess and confuse with real hardware throughput.
I've seen it. And I'm telling you as someone who has access to both, DLSS does not blow FSR2/3 out of the water. It's better. it's marginally better. DLSS used to blow FSR out of the water until version 2. The gap is not much though. There is a significant difference between the DF comparisons, but those differences could be replicated by having one game running FSR with an output resolution of 1440p compared to the same game running FSR with an output resolution of 4K. FSR wo...
"Nope. Closer to the newest DLSS"
That's what I said. in literally the following sentences. I'll uncut off your quote:
"If you don't like the soft blurry upscaled images from games using FSR2+ or UE5s own temporal upscaler you're going to be similarly disappointed by PSSR. There's not a massive difference between DLSS and FSR2+ as it stands. Most people are guessing it'll stand somewhere between those two "
being closer to...
I reckon the fins are the difference and they'll both fit but yeah would be nice to get clarity. I'm sure they'll get to it.
