@morganfell

I agree with you for the most part. We're never going to keep both gamers and publishers/developers happy. In some ways, this is a micro-version of the debate as to whether the best way to stimulate a country's economy is to give money/tax breaks to companies and hope it trickles down or do so to the people and hope that they buy more. I don't want to give up my rights, options, and expected costs of gaming, but I also don't want to see games cance...

Yeah this is kinda crazy. I mean, the Destiny beta crash was one thing, but there's nothing going on atm that would make any sense for LIVE to be down.

"It's because if it generates enough revenue, other pubs will follow suit and we'll end up in a world where every publisher requires a subscription to play their games."

No. This isn't requiring a subscription to play a publisher's games - this is giving the option of buying a subscription to play older games, get early access and trials of new games, and receive discounts on future purchases. If you don't like it, do...

Nobody forces you to subscribe. You have the choice. I don't know why that is difficult to understand.

"Make something people want to not only buy but they want to keep. That is the best protection against used games. Also the one most fair."

I would agree with this statement, but the fact is that even the best games ever made end up in used circulation. Uncharted 2 is one of my favorite games ever and one of the most highly regarded games of all time, but 2 weeks after launch, GameStop had used copies. I wouldn't feel comfortable tel...

"And if you think a console that costs 600 dollars will sell well in a country where half of the people get 2000 dollars per year..."

Half of 1 billion people is 500 million people. Just saying.

@Ausbo

That's exactly what I thought lol

Seriously though... Sony is doing a good job staying in front of Microsoft and Nintendo in sales thus far. Even though "sell more" sounds obvious, it's way better than explaining the position of trying to catch up.

"Because the publisher isn't entitled to it. Every used game was at one point a new game, meaning they made their money off the new copy and the used copy doesn't equate to any additional costs as it is merely a transfer, not an addition.

There's absolutely no reason for publishers to be allowed to infinitely dip."

Theoretically, one person could buy one new copy of a game. They could then sell it or trade it...

PS+ is required for online multiplayer except for free to play games. It also offers cumulative access to several titles a month across the PlayStation family of devices and discounts on games and DLC. It used to have free trials of certain games as well, but I'm not sure if that is still the case or not.

PS Now is a streaming service that allows users to stream games from the PlayStation library on a wide range of devices, from consoles to TVs ...

I'm not a huge EA fan in general (Titanfall aside) and probably won't subscribe. However, this seems like a good deal for people who are interested in what EA offers. See, the thing is, different gamers want different things. Some like being able to pay to access several different games in a block. Some want a collection of physical copies. Some want to stream. Some rent. This generation, we will have the opportunity to do any and all of those, depending on which console(s) you choose...

You're one of the Sony fanboys and part of the historic bias (you said yourself - you've been here since 2007). Why on earth would you agree with me?

This site was NEVER a "huge haven for Xbox fanboys". I am so over the revisionist history that some people try to push on this site. I've been around since 2007, and since that time, this site has been KNOWN around the other gaming sites as having a large Sony bias. That was 7 years ago, and the site is 8 years old. Do the math.

I put in over 3,000 hours of SOCOM II. I'd pay more than 60 bucks for a simple HD version. Just give me East 19, Central 7, the breach maps, and Foxhunt all in glorious high definition and I'll gladly revisit the early 2000's on a nightly basis.

Watch Dogs definitely in terms of a game that I had hoped I would enjoy a lot but did not. I didn't think I would be crazy for Ryse, and I liked it even less. I knew I wouldn't like BF4 and not only didn't I like it, but the damned multiplayer hardly worked for the first couple of months (I only bought it to play with friends).

I never could put my finger on it until I read your post -the storytelling in TLOU is what makes it so special as opposed to the actual story (which is great itself, but not the absolute best). The pacing is brilliant, the depth of character development is at an unmatched level, and everything has its purpose.

@Sevir - why are you comparing Destiny to Titanfall or Evolve? They couldn't be more different games - they just all happen to be in the FPS genre. A more appropriate comparison would be to Borderlands.

The only thing I didn't like about Destiny is the three person fireteam. It could be for selfish reasons - I have played almost every night for 10 years with the same three other guys and this puts us in an odd man out situation.

The game is awesome ot...

My problem is this:
"The Xbox One footage was captured using the built-in Game DVR app, so the footage is as native looking as possible for that console. A capture card wasn’t used to pull the footage to ensure that the quality was as close as possible to the resolution output of the PS4′s built-in DVR system for a fair comparison."

Both consoles' DVRs downgrade and compress. Neither are represented fairly in this comparison. A capture card with options ...
