She's hot.
She makes games.
In short, she's a geeks's wet dream.
1 billion, gagillion, fafillion, shabolubalu million illion yillion dollars
Gravity Gun should have been higher on the list...but I love turtle shells...and Freeman's ubiquitous crowbar...and I hope the new version of Turok includes the Cerebral Bore...but what about the Cannon from Serious Sam? The Crawler Launcher from Prey? Those should not be overlooked.
Don't have enough knowledge of this to really pass judgment...anyone with any previews or other info to pass on?
In other words, should I be excited about this?
They are one of the few companies that can afford to p!ss away money on a non-profitable division and not blink twice about it.
As another poster stated, it's not so much about domination--outside of Windows and Office, of course--as it is about preventing someone else from dominating said market.
Look at the Xbox: A foot in the door: establish a brand name, certify franchises (Halo, PGR, Forza, Fable, etc.), and a first-rate online service (Live). Then follow ...
Sooo....they're having problems developing for BOTH systems?
Let's see how the fanboys spin this one.
MS will work hard to make sure this stays exclusive.
MS is trying hard to bring family gamers to the 360, but I just don't see the 360 having the kind of mass-market appeal necessary to bring in the family crowd. Look at Viva Pinata for a good example.
I think this will sell some, mostly to people looking for a break from action/war games (plenty of those to choose from), but it will be a niche title, a moderate seller at best. (I might be wrong, tho).
I heard a rumor that this might come to the Wii; I can see it b...
"Can we stop now?"
When he does.
The McCarthy of this generation.
Well, as good as Mass Effect undoubtedly will be (Bioware + RPG = perfection), it has some SERIOUS competition this year:
BioShock
Halo 3
Mario Galaxy
Assassin's Creed
Call of Duty 4
And don't count out Ratchet and Clank: Future and Rock Band.
Gad, what a lineup for this fall!
A "waste of everyone's time?"
How about this article?
Flame bait.
I know the feeling...at least the 360 doesn't use batteries as fast as the Wiimotes (those things gobble up batteries like candy).
A suggestion: Play and charge kits pay for themselves pretty quickly.
From goodganja44:
"PS3 getting consistent sales despite Halo 3 being released."
Proof?
Gears is now over 3 mil in the US alone...pretty impressive.
Also seeing BioShock closing in on that 1 mil mark, though I thought that it would have been there by now. (Once everyone finishes buying Halo 3, expect sales to pick up when people realize how freakin' incredible BioShock is).
As for 360 sales...the Pro editions seem to be out of stock at most stores in my city and surrounding areas. Don't know if that's due to supply issues or sales, but there you go....
Erin Go Bragh!
I still have family in and around County Cork...you meet a Barry in those areas, they're probably related to me. And probably wanted by the British :)
While this may or may not be earth-shaking to North America, this is BIG news for Japan...The Monster Hunter series is a massive seller over there, on the scale of Pokemon or Hot Shots Golf...Japanese gamers snatched up PSPs in large amounts when the last MH game came out.
Good news for the Wii, bad for the PS3.
Also notice that Capcom, despite their good relationship with MS, isn't showing sings of bringing this to the 360, either.
Two free games + Halo 3 will = big sales this Christmas for the 360...
...Throw in Mass Effect, Rock Band, Assassin's Creed, GH3, CoD4, to name a few...
...but will it be enough to counter the Wii's momentum and a cheaper PS3?
Too early to tell. Wait and see.
I just...agreed...and bubbled...Lighting.
Gotta be a sign of the Apocalypse! :)
Nice post, free of your usual one-sidedness.
And you have a good point...I see far, far more 360 games sold at my store than any other system, although the PS2 still does pretty well.
Soooo....making an MP3 of a song on a CD that I OWN to put on my iriver is illegal?
Wow. That's excessively harsh. Baby, bathwater, and tub.
Sony has absolutely NO room to try and take the moral high ground here, especially their music imprint: Google "Sony" and "payola" to see what I'm talking about.
Good selections, but a Top Ten would have allowed the inclusion of themes like MGS, Katamari Damacy, and the original Sonic w/o neglecting Halo, FFVII, etc.
