I think the 259 million represents software, and not hardware, sales. With about 50 million DS systems sold worldwide, that translates roughly to 5 games per unit, which seems reasonable. Whoever edited that article should have noticed that, and corrected it.

Let's keep the Sony-bashing to a minimum...remember, they've had many, many profitable quarters from their game division over the years. The same with Nintendo, for that matter.
That said, it's good to finally see a profit from the 360...even after that $1.1 billion RRoD write-off last quarter. Could this be when Microsoft's entertainment division finally turns it around and becomes a profitable force, rather than Bill Gates' money-bleeding whimsy?

Two thoughts:
Does it surprise anyone that Mario Galaxy scored so high? That game will be HUGE when released. When I buy a Wii in the spring, that, along with Zelda, will be the first two games I'll buy.
Nice reviews for Ace Combat 6, but will anyone in Japan care? Expect a small spike in 360 sales, followed by the usual doldrums in Japan.
