Gotta side with Sony on this one...guy needs a lint-free cloth and canned air ASAP. Imagine what the inside of the system looks like...no wonder it quit working.
I can't imagine what his other electronics look like...there are probably dust bunnies the size of tribbles in his CPU tower...
Well, duh. They're nearly impossible to find. If you want one, and are able to find a model, then buy it, because you're not likely to see another until well after the holidays.
Not bad...but are they worth standing in line and fighting the crowds over?
*which would go great with a Wii joke*
OK, here's the test:
Anyone with a PS3 version having any issues? Any sites (PS3 Fanboy, etc) reporting anything unusual? Any sites at all?
Cite sources, please.
I'm just curious if IGN made a mistake in the original review in noting something that wasn't real, or if this is an indication of something else.
You've posted this twice, in two separate comment sections. Not a bad idea, especially since they're two of the most-read/commented-on stories of the day, but this may be more appropriate for the forums.
However, posting in the forums has its own problems: Post in the 360 forum, and you can guess what they'll likely recommend. Post in the PS3 forum...you get the picture.
My advice, as someone who has gamed for more than 25 years and sells games for a living:

Two things I wish I had done a year ago:
Invested in Nintendo
--and--
Invested in Activision
Also, looks like the ratio of copies/console sold of CoD4 for PS3 and 360 was about even.
Especially at certain times of the month!
I kid! I kid!
But let me tell you...to venture into what is normally a testosterone-dominated field and kick @ss...well, that takes a lot of...ovaries. :)
Get used to it, guys: Female gamers are here to stay.
Translator, please. That can't be English.

Don't assume this means people are snatching up Blu-Ray and HD-DVD...more likely, the decreased sales are due to two factors:
--DVD players became so cheap in so little time that most people have already bought one. Cell phone sales have seen similarly flat numbers for the same reasons.
--Video on demand is slowly making inroads into people's homes, and are probably contributing to the decline in player--and movie--sales.

Happy Birthday. Still the best.
I figured both Mass Effect and Uncharted would get better scores, but this is just one source. I think other sites/mags will likely judge them better.
There is one bad thing to come out of this: PS3 owners can't enjoy one of the best games of recent years, and that's a shame.
So, here's what they should do--well, other than buy a 360 :) --
Go out and buy Ratchet and Clank. Support what has been (so far) a criminally under-appreciated game. It's a damn shame that it has already fallen down the charts.
OK, they're adding Xbox games (sweeeet), giving Psychonauts another chance (yay!), but what about a few more backwards-compatibility updates? I only have 2 games that aren't BC yet, and they're 2 of my favorites (Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and D&D Heroes), and I don't see those being high priority for MS to add as downloads.
But otherwise, this is GREAT news.
Caught in the middle. Consumers FTL.
The best of the series: Martin O'Donnell outdid himself on this one.
If you have nothing useful to say, go troll somewhere else.
