Wow, that's really, really cool. Wish they offered it in stores.
HDMI...
Motion Sensors...
Achievem...um, Trophies...
This gen's motto should be "Monkey see, monkey do."
So the games are equal...
And we have nice exclusives (Vader and Yoda)...
And the rumor of Kratos in the PS3 version (and maybe Master Chief in the 360 version)...
Shaping up pretty well.
YES!!!!!
*Yawn*
Excuse me, I'm going to leave this pissing contest and go play a GAME. Jeez.
They're not dead...but I have a feeling that we'll be seeing a lot fewer of them from now on.
Think about it...many games now cost as much as a feature film to create, advertise, and publish. The more consoles available for a game, the easier it is to recoup the costs.
As controversial as it was, do you think that Capcom regrets making DMC4 for the 360? I'm sure they're pretty happy with their profits.
It also means that more people can enjoy a game with...
It needs to be. MS has lost some of their momentum from last year, and the PS3 is quickly recovering from its slow start.
What's needed: New and original IPs, a system price cut, Blu-Ray on 360, and a surprise or two. And I would also suggest they do a better job advertising their games.
Well, DUH.
We all love GAMES and GAMING.
It's when some of us let our unthinking, unwavering, slavering devotion to one console/game/company dominate our thinking that we have a problem.
Don't worry, there will be more Uncharted. Just keep the quality high, and people will welcome more.
Because not every game--no matter how good--appeals to every person. Some people swear by MGS4, or Halo, or CoD4, or FF, and others can't do without their newest fix of Animal Crossing or Nintendogs.
You don't have to like a game, no matter how highly rated or popular it is...I mean, I'm not a big fan of Guitar Hero or CoD4, but I understand and respect their popularity.
As I once told someone, "You don't have to like the games I like...but please respect my enj...
Here's what I'm observing at my store:
The bundle sells like crazy...I've had more requests for it than anything than the Wii/Wii Fit.
The game? Not so well, despite my attempts to hype it (good games get my hype regardless of system). I don't think we sell more than a couple of copies a day.
I've compared noted with a couple of friends who work at GameStop, Circuit City, and Wal-Mart...they've seen much the same.
Again, these are just the ...
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
BABY!
That's it. I'm trading in my 360 and all my games and buying a PS3, because Wolf of the Battlefield is definitely a system mover. :)
(I've had a s*itty day. Hence, the sarcasm).
Why?
Because the genre's been beaten to death...Multiple Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games, not to mention a handful of lesser titles (Hour of Victory).
CoD4 was a refreshing departure from the WWII genre, and although modern-style FPS games are a dime a dozen, CoD4 was different enough (esp. the online mode) to stand out.
CoD5 better be something special.
Both of you make pretty good points. I think we'll see some kind of deal between Itagaki and MS...either a studio deal, or game exclusivity.
Hey MS: Give this guy and his crew their own studio and see what happens.
The Darkness also tracks your achievement progress...very handy, esp. with the online achievements.
I still play it about once or twice a month...still one of the best pure shooters around, and has held up pretty well over time.
