Shouldn't this site hand out asbestos suits before posting articles like this? Worst flamebait I've seen in a while. Get over it and enjoy games on the system of your choice. Jeez.
Well, DUH! This is MS' and Bungie's biggest cash cow...as long as the money flows, so will the games. But, for the love of God, MAKE SURE THE QUALITY IS PRESERVED! No Halo Racing, or introducing cutesy Spartan sidekicks, or half-@ssed spinoffs. As long as they do that, I'll continue to buy Halo games. This franchise has almost unlimited possibilities.
Now, what this may mean:
Halo 3 is supposed to conclude the CURRENT Halo storyline...it seems likely that Master...
They have some issues to fix for the sequel (loading, camera, controls), but as long as they put their best brains behind it, I think it'll be ok.
hmmm...best brains...*drool*...Brains...*d rool*...BRAINS!...*munch munch* *burp*
(After a day of retail work, this is often how I feel)
After weeks--months, really--of speculation, they make it official.
As I stated yesterday:
My store hasn't seen a 20GB model since January...so yeah, this is pretty much on the spot. Although I have seen much higher demand for the 60GB, the 20GB offered an alternative for those not interested in wifi or a card-reader...an extra $100 goes a long way towards another controller and a game.
Dropping the 20GB model also undermines one of Sony's strateg...
Looks good...not quite photo-realistic, but impressive nonetheless, and approaching the "uncanny valley." The PS3's tendency to overemphasize lighting--ambient and direct--shows here, though that's not a major problem, and could even be the result of unfinished programming.
Now, here's the question: How will it play? The original and the sequel were pretty underwhelming; in fact, I thought the second one was absolutely terrible. A new system can mean a blank slate, s...
For a GTA clone, this one was pretty good--certainly better than True Crime or any of the other half-baked urban action games that have sprung up in the past few years.
For the sequel: Keep the humor, expand the story, and make the sandbox environment even more malleable...think Crackdown, and the ability to do darn near anything.
Bigger HDs coming, more TV/movie downloads on the way, and more games available on the arcade. It's a better deal than multiple 1600 point cards, and definitely a less frequent purchase.
Now I know when to take some vacation days.
Mountain Dew + Pizza + 360 + Halo 3 Beta = bleary-eyed gamer committing major pwnage. Can't wait.
That South Park already did it! Hell, so did American Dad!

Dropping the 20GB model also undermines one of Sony's strategies for the PS3: Blu-Ray. Think about it: If I want a BR player, and have 2 choices between $500 and $600, which will I c...
They found a need (casual gamers and families) and filled it. More power to them.
I love my 360, but I will purchase a Wii in the near future, for the family and friends.
God, I hope this happens...but ONLY if they enable online multiplayer. Nothing is more fun than grabbing quad-damage and a rocket launcher and watching the gibs fly ten feet in the air. Or beating somebody down with your melee weapon..."humiliation,&qu ot; indeed!
I still fire this one up on my PC from time to time...max out the number of bots...set the kill limit to 500...and go crazy.
Insomniac seems to have become Sony's go-to guys when a quality game is developed...much like Bungie or Bioware for MS.
R & C will rock...this is something that the 360 lacks, and will probably not have for a while--a fun, action-packed platformer. MS needs to address this, and soon.
Right now, because they're struggling after so long on top, Sony's an easy target. As much as Americans (and others) love success stories, they love to see the high and mighty fall from grace...or at least suffer setbacks.
Honestly, Sony's partly responsible for some of the negativity...arrogant statements, bad advertising, bad publicity...but too often stories like this are just Sony-bashing masked as an article.
No numbers, nothing significant to back it up.....
They have so many AAA games coming out before the end of the year, it concerns me that they will "play their hand" too soon and not have much to follow it up with in 2008. However, it looks like Halo Wars, Fable 2, and Alan Wake will all fall in '08, so the lineup isn't completely bare, and there'll probably be plenty more announced at E3 and other conferences before the end of the year. If MS is going to maintain their momentum, they'll need games to back it up.
Anyt...
The story sounds intriguing, the environments are immersive and well-realized, and if the gameplay is worthwhile, then this will definitely be a must-have. Unfortunately, it looks like it'll be early '08 before this gets out.
I send text far more often than voice, primarily due to the occasional bugginess of the MS headsets. This IS a good compromise, and if reasonably priced, I will buy it.
And although I don't need or want a browser on my 360, it could potentially be useful for me, since my main computer and 360 are on different floors, and the occasional web search might be handy. (Or, I could just move my second PC upstairs).
My drooling anticipation for this game has reached critical mass. Wow.
Mass Effect
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
Too Human
Alan Wake
Bioshock
Forza 2
Halo 3
Fable 2
Halo Wars
Ninja Gaiden 2
11 reasons why I'm going to go broke before much longer.
God, it's good to be a gamer right now.
...is a good editor. It reads like something that was written by a fourth grader..."igniting furry?" Isn't that something that happened to Conker? When he says "anarchists" in the Left Behind game, doesn't he mean atheists? Or agnostics?
His grammar and sentence structure is atrocious. It makes him--and his blog article--very hard to take seriously. (Please bear in mind that I minored in English in college).
