There might not be any contaversy right now if they had lead with this trailer. But knowing what we know, they would have basically been hiding details that people are complaining out.

But in this case, I'm glad I now know that this game is very similar to the Arkham games, because the fight system in those games almost ruins them completely for me.
It depends on the reviewer. Do you know what this person said about the latest versions of those games you listed? Maybe they didn't give those a pass.

For instance, I'm of the opinion that game reviews should stick to unbiased things, like quality around graphics, sound, story, buggy or not, and does it play well. You know, like functional things. How well is the game made? I wouldn't even include story in a review because it's too subjective. Some people might love a game's story, but others might hate it.

What are you talking about? The title is supposed to have the word "spoiler" then give a vague description of the article without actually giving the spoiler. This way people can make the decision of whether it's something they want spoiled or not, and then read the article or not based on that.

RE7 is the closest thing we've gotten to oldschool Resident Games since before RE4. The only difference is the perspective. If RE7 had been 3rd person with tank controls it would have been exactly like the old ones.

I'm no game developer but it seems to me like downgrades can happen for both legitimate reasons and non-legitimate reasons.
1. When devs start work on a game they have no way of knowing how the finished product will run. So it does make sense to make it look as good as possible, graphically, then downgrade if necessary as you add more features.
