It could have been missing all of those things you mentioned as long as Kojima still made it. People would still call it the greatest of all time.
Anything with Kojima on it will always be considered the best of whatever it is doing by fans. This and Death Stranding prove that. PT was a Trailer and no one even knew if the final game would have been anything like it. Yet here we are in this article.
Death Stranding has very little known about it with almos...
I'm not a fan either, mostly because I really cannot stand the combat system.
Having said that, I can also realize what an amazing game it is and that my dislike of it is only due to my personal preference of one very unenjoyable, yet majorly important part of the game.
The Witcher 3 really is a great game and deserves all the praise it gets.
The difference is that Sony is at the top, sales-wise. By a very large margin. They are clearly not "desperate for sales".
MS has been doing everything they can think of this entire gen to try and catch up with Sony. So perception would tell you that they are more desperate for sales than Sony.
I understand you are supposed to win it. I was addressing your point that you can make it to the top 5 of pretty much any BR game by sneaking around and avoiding fights. In fact, that's kind of the smart thing to do.
Surviving until the top 10 by sneaking around is just a part of BR.
The few times I played Fortnite that is exactly what I did. I just went from building to building and avoided everyone I saw. Collected armor and guns and hid. I actually made it to the top 5 every match I played.
BR is overrated.
Backwards compatible isn't the same as a remaster...
"They have a 'family friendly' image that just wont quit."
We're talking about a violent, M Rated game that is over the top with gore, close combat kills, and many other very adult themes and images.
Removing the Swastika has nothing to do with keeping a "family friendly" image.
A QTE game that didn't tell you what buttons to press...
Haha. It definitely won't flop.
What some people don't understand is that the people making comments on this site are a vocal minority at any time. Whether they are saying positive things or not.
If you look at what is popular in the MP world of video games right now, this game has everything it needs to succeed. And it will. Whether some people are mad about the historical inaccuracies or not.
It still takes skill to get the trophies, even if you look up HOW to get them.
To be getting that many trophies I would have to seriously question how much he enjoys the games.
Just think about that. 300 Platinums a year? I don't even finish 20 games a year, much less platinum them. Can you even think of 300 games in the last 5 years combined that you would consider worth platinuming? I can't!
Open World games suck at telling a story because the pacing is awful and the story goes on tangents based on what you are doing.
For the most part, when you start open world games you get the beginning of the story, but when you get set loose in the world it is up to the player to keep the story moving. But most people stop and start exploring or doing side missions and could end up going days without touching any main story content.
So yeah, they suck at...
Yeah because video games never do anything like that.
MP games NEVER sell classic map packs.
The difference is this is very likely not the same exact thing. It will look different, have different things to do, and have different missions/quests. Probably different areas also.
But sure. Go ahead and generalize it and say it's the same content if ignorance makes you happy.
Well that sucks for the people that just jumped into Destiny 2 last month when they started giving the base game away for free and charging for Forsaken and all the expansions separately.
This is the argument no one wants to accept.
People get WAAAAAY more playtime out of multiplayer games. Like you said, I finish a single player game in a relatively short amount of time, then I'm done. Multiplayer will keep people playing for months.
I'm not going to sit here and act like a campaign wouldn't be nice to have. But we're talking about a MP focused franchise. To say it should be cheaper if it doesn't have SP is a bit sill...
Lag can absolutely kill a fighting game...
And I don't think I've played a beta of a game that was laggy and then have the full game release with no lag. Unfortunately, if a game is suffering from lag issues 99% of the time it will always have some type of lag issues.
If they are teasing it, it more than likely won't release for another 3-4 years.
The state of the RTS market? The last RTS we got that was worth a damn was StarCraft. And it was a huge hit. Why? Because it didn't try to change the formula of what fans love. If debs would stick to the formula of what makes RTS games popular then there would be no problem. But instead they tried to change it up then act like it's the franchise that people aren't interested in anymore lol.
Just make a new C&C in the same vein as the previously released titl...
Yeah I'm really not sure what kind of feedback they are looking for. It's very obvious what fans want.
The last C&C that they released was absolute garbage because they changed the formula that fans have loved for almost 20 years. Then they released a mobile app, to which they have received terrible feedback.
This really isn't rocket science. Make a new C&C that follows the same formula that fans have always loved. It's that simple...
Uuuhhhhhhhh......of course it has more players and made more money. GTAV has been out for years. RDR2 came out literally 5 days ago lol.
Let's not forget that before GTAV Online was a thing people were complaining quite a bit about it. It took a while before GTAV became the game it is now.
