"Great blog! I love it when CliffyB says "gaming is a business" as if that diffuses the argument."

I couldn't stand the way he termed it a few months back. It's fine to remind people these are businesses so as to not fool themselves into thinking they 'care' for you, but the whole "gaming's sole existence is to make money" excuse as a counter-argument for disgusting actions is stupid.

Thought when initially h...

"I tend to avoid Fox like the plague..."

You'll have to pardon my choice of words here: that sort of comes off as closeting yourself from dissenting opinions (unless you view a conservative-based news outlet elsewhere). Diving into the politically pluralistic nature of today's news (in US at least) can breed the best results of hearing every angle of an argument and filtering them to see where your decision lies in certain cases. I may question why Lawrence...

"Would it have been easier to handle had it been from someone else?"

Not sure where you're going with that. :/

Yeah...the explanation does reek of that. I wouldn't be convinced to see them say they are MMO's (at least with The Division) for damage control like EA did with SimCity.

"This is coming from Fox!?"

The first comment didn't jump on pointing this out? Perhaps that trite gotcha is starting to wear thin.

We're talking about Stossel here so this isn't really surprising (regardless of what news corp. gives him his paycheck).

I log on today and you have to be the one who imparts this sad news to me. :'(

@Hammad

One of Alain Corre's (one of Ubisoft's directors) quotes mentions both titles having a single-player component:

Edit: "Not MMOs. You can have an experience on your own or with friends. It’s a non-stopping world, which is like life. You’re getting closer to life."

The Uncharted games are shooters too.

The only thing that went through my mind upon reading this: "Can you imagine those two bundled?"

Interesting find, Maria. (And Haydan Christensen is back! o_o)

Even with what little details I've seen/heard of this game, it's really the only title I've seen that shows some worth for investing into the One--even then I wonder if it'll even remain exclusive, given Remedy's track record.

That's correct. Just .1up'd their previous high scorer: Skyrim.

No, that came out about...9 months after PS3's launch.

After playing FoM, I don't want to jump on the "lol PS3 had no gamez" train I constantly saw back then; however, I think it pales in comparison to 360's. As dated as it looked, Condemned perfectly captured first-person melee-based combat. And CoD2>3

"Secondly, are you sure you're not the problem with the game?"

Good question. While I am limited to a laptop (a couple years old/Win 7 64-bit), things were really smooth sailing until I completed one specific task, outside of some framerate drops. There wasn't many settings choices to work with: turn off HD videos, put effects quality to low, limit pixel count (all of which I've tried). I'm going to retry with a few of Daedalic support's tips,...

Hope everyone enjoyed the review...misplaced in the blog section. Just kidding, it's purposefully here! ^^

Cat wanted me to submit here as a non-score review since that's the way she prefers it, as some of you are already aware. There's a few things I need to go through that I wanted to explain in the comment section:

-The big meow wanted me to go ahead and submit this since I was already past the deadline.
-Although it doesn't seem...

Or perhaps you cannot seem to get a hold of the fact that I recognize that and my point is in regards to the arbitrary shifts in some gamer's attitudes towards things they used to be morally opposed to, with your first comment being a portrait of the back-pedaling I'm seeing. (Note: that still doesn't necessarily paint you as one of the people I'm speaking against)

Seeing as how you spend the rest of your comment countering points I never bothered to argue ag...

I'm...not exactly sure where this conversation is heading. Let me try some bullet points to clarify:

-I am not griping against the new cost of PS+ multiplayer for PS4 or that the service in general doesn't have value (last night's conference showed 95% think it's a great service)
-I'm not explicitly grouping you in with the people on n4g I'm talking about, only point out how your first comment seems to exactly mirror the typical defensive resp...

A different generation doesn't discount the fact, unfortunately. If n4g had it's own goggle-like search engine solely for comments you'd see a profusion of posters in years past stating "Sony would NEVER stoop to charging for online play," and even to the days before this conference. Now, you could probably find a decent portion of those same posters marking this change as a something to be expected, or even a 'good thing' (because reasons).

Knowing the possible--not likely--lucrative opportunities, plans could be bound to change. I wouldn't be surprised to see Xbox KH remaster news crop up IF KH3 somehow becomes a gangbuster franchise on the One as well.

4755d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

I don't understand why that detracts from the megaton news, overall. The official announcement of KHIII and XIII-Versus revamped into a fresh new FF are 'forever' marked as bringing fans joy during Sony's conference. It could also be later announced for the 2600 for all fans care; they'll still remember where they heard/saw the news first.

A portion (or many) of the same people who snickered and jeered at MS' XBLG policy, regardless of what another poster found in its value, are now throwing up the obvious defense "well...at LEAST it isn't that console" in order to justify this action. Before the Sony conference, it wasn't necessarily MS' similar $5 monthly cost that got to most people but the PRINCIPLE of the paywall that constantly had anyone--from fanboy to typical gamer--foaming at the mouth.
