Heard some great things about this reboot.
"I know, I want one, too."
You can't have mine. >:(
That's great. Hope it happens.
Hook a bean up, Cat.
Shame there wasn't a full-length interview with one of these guys too.
Thanks for the crossover vid, Short Lived Heroes. The CGI wasn't too bad and the sushi part was pretty good.
I can see myself now trying to go every which way and latching onto several different items at once. I wonder if anyone's made it through the game without ever accidentally latching onto something.
Thank me too! :D
I wanted to try and snag this one for IndieMonth, which is a good thing I didn't since my laptop's still down. :(
Still really like this game's concept and hope to try it out soon.
A shame there wasn't any Q+A's from someone working at Double Fine for this day. :(
Anyways...
I enjoyed reading what I did, Fog. I decided to ignore some stuff just b/c I'm more inclined to pick up how the plot unfolds through my playthrough.
Entry just for Broken Age.
This one sounds a bit more familiar than the Hack 'n Slash title being made by them. Anyways, good write-up, Hero.
"I found myself creating my own personal achievements in play sessions. Remember those?"
O_o No...only the term "xbox" can come before achievements. I'm not sure of this other poppycock.
Entry just for Broken Age.
Looks like an interesting take on the formula--and a bit unexpected for that kind of title.
Doesn't sound like my thing but still a cool idea.
Entry just for Broken Age.
Double Fine is a terrific dev that I hope stays in this industry for a long time.
Broken Age looked good, but I was holding out until Part 2 came out.
Entry just for Broken Age.
The Stanley Parable may still rest atop the best of the best of 2013 for me (from what I've currently played).
Yeah, yeah pretentious hipster indie cred and all...but I think the basic concept of the game is so interesting.
Walking Simulator is what I would use. Depending on how you would define "game," it might be considered a non-game.
Thanks for the interview and help craft this game, Mr. Pugh.
Wonderfully-written game.
Step 5? WHERE'S STEP 5, DANG IT?!?!
"What element of game design do you hold above all others?
Revenge."
Now we're talking.
@3-4-5
I'd say it can feel too limiting at times. It's great that all campaign content is unlocked but PvP, dungeons, raids are all locked behind purchasable weekly passes. It's a micro-transaction haven.
Indeed. I want to jump back into the Bounty Hunter storyline the more I think about it.
Pretty good interview.
"Is that different from AAA? Is it different from 17-BIT which is 8 people full time? Or Polytron which was 2-3? I think the meaning of the term "indie" just needs to evolve with the times."
Seems like it does if something as arbitrary as # of full time employees is one of those determiners. Hundreds of people work on the next Assassin's Creed and ~70 people worked on Titanfall but I'm sure both fall un...
Really looks like a classic RPG I'd like to get my hands on. I must admit, though, I don't really like the terminology for "finding the fun" within a title. I've brought that up at length before, and it seems innocuous in the context of the response, but it's still one that rubs me the wrong way.
