Yeah, Trenches left a bad taste in my mouth too. If you're down for a classic RE survival-horror in the trenches I'm incredibly confident you'll at least enjoy this, *perhaps* even love it. The mechanics are all there:
-slower, more deliberate combat pacing
-this game's equivalent of Crimson Heads, making you weigh between killing or avoiding
-consumable ink ribbons for saving
-constrained inventory tension
It...

"Maybe it is incomplete? Perhaps they had things that if they’d finished, would’ve made it less mediocre."
Even from my experience with the beta, the comparison to Redfall (mechanically) is just nonsensical.
Indeed, jznrpg. Some people just can't help themselves but enjoy hating things. It's a shame.
By "releasing on Netflix Games" does that specifically mean its iPhone/iPad app?
I still think you're leaning too negatively towards it, but not to a ridiculous degree like this title. I'll grant you it wasn't the most refined in an era of Gears of War titles, Uncharted 4, and so on, *BUT* I still think its no HUD/Classic difficulty captured solid tempo that enabled both cover-based & "off-cover" shooting as valid tactics. Maybe not the prettiest tune, but it could still sing.
You're absolutely nuts if you think Mafia: DE's gunplay is terrible. The title has to be bait.
Most likely true, but I don't see why Square wouldn't roll the dice. Make a decent port, put it on another platform, and maybe see a better ROI. I don't see why they wouldn't at least roll the dice.
I figure we'd see Forspoken ported over before FFXVI - if XVI were to happen.
Oh shit! It was on Games with Gold? I must've missed that month's offering. Regardless, I'll try to check it out sometime in the future.
It's funny b/c I'm genuinely curious to try out Never Yield too, given its more positive reception.
While I disagree in both respects, "from a narrative perspective" seems totally bonkers to me. Even if you don't find it their best, AW2 literally lifts from many of their previous action titles to tell one of the most meta stories in recent memory. It's certainly not shallow when you see how all the pieces thematically tie together.
@-Foxtrot
AWII's Gameplay Director, Kyle Rowley, shot that down a while ago. Saga was black before SBI ever came on board according to him. What SBI *DID* do was basically sensitivity reading and workshopping Saga's dialogue - which sadly shows.
Why not? The new expansion was fun.
While I can understand that annoyance with screentime share, Remedy were in a hard place with such an extensive time since the last AW dropped. Incorporating another POV character directly tied to Alan Wake's story is both a great way to introduce new players and establish someone outside of The Dark Place.
I think it's August 15th.
Haven't played many of their games, but did review the ones I have (thus far).
-The Order: 1886 is still garbage
-Deformers is legitimately one of the 8th gen's most underrated games
Just my honest takeaway from them. I *did* manage to pick up the PS5 port of Daxter though.
Surprised to see Flintlock score higher than Dungeons of Hinterburg, given their critical averages.
That probably kept them afloat for longer, if anything. They were interested in pursuing VR games and Meta seemingly gave them more runway.
Same. Looks like genuine fun.
It's off to the right-hand side of the page. Technically, it says 45/100, but that's just splitting hairs.
