Didn't know about this game until *this* review. Now you've piqued my interest.
You're missing the point. His studio's short lifespan is what *inspired* him to make this comment in the first place.
@Dishonest Random (VariantAEC)
I've followed this up by emphasizing all but one of the Allied Nations were "Christian-majority." ; Even then, anyone with a functioning brain can understand the context surrounding my 1st reply and its implications. Obviously people of other disparate faiths (or atheist belonging) fought against the Nazis too.
Well, yes and no. The first issue is going to be how "wokeness" is actually defined (kinda like the "I know it when I see it" argument is used with pornography). But if we both reached a concrete understanding of what that looks like, I think there's enough there to diagnose as one of its many issues. If Veilguard's story were a corpse being autopsied, what ravinash is describing is like seeing gross buildup around its heart or a rare blood infection that's ...
But most don't *want* to save their money in this case. They want another polished AAA open-world game with top-tier writing. I personally can't say whether or not they got that with Tsushima (didn't play it yet), but it's looking less likely they'll get that with Yotei.
I'm more inclined to wait and see; after all, both writers do have better writing credits to their names (albeit from several years ago).
@thorstein
-"The UK at the time was not a Christian as they once were."
"The USA still firmly held a separation of church and state at the beginning of WWII and at no time did either country embrace Christianity as a driving force for opposing Hitler. And neither did France."
So, none of these contentions directly challenge my initial statement. Let's just break these down first by historical statistics: Great...
@S2Killint
"He means they were christian as in christian ideals, imagery, propaganda, and sentiments were used by Nazi’s to justify or unite their base."
But even that claim is warped the more you look into Hilter's own motivations. It's not really "christian" propaganda to harken back to Aryan bloodlines for example. Like, there's a wider mixture of ideals - some inherently contradictory to one another - that led to the ...
I must make a critical correction here: the chief forces [that were consistently] against Hitler's party were also certainly Christian. My original comment is incorrect when considering that The Allies did include The Soviet Union, whose official ideology was atheism & communism (obviously). But that correction also unexpectedly reinforces my point, given Stalin's willingness to shake hands with Hitler and sign a non-aggression pact with him early on.
And the chief forces *against* Hitler's party were also certainly Christian, so I'm not sure what you're driving at here. r/atheism is just around the corner on your first left.
Fortnite-ification comes for all live-service games.
Welp...
lol
-"I know the anti woke don’t want to admit it but they basically cancelled this game.
Like how woke people cancel stuff they did it to this game because it didn’t fit their “view”."
Terminology like "canceling" for DA:TV simply doesn't work. It didn't risk any impediments, whether by cultural factors or otherwise, of getting onto all the available storefronts that it wanted. There wasn't even a hint of other industry types voicing ...
I get that too. I'm basically the odd man out among critics. lol
Great start for Eternal Strands and Citizen Sleeper 2.
While thorstein has received moderation oversight for this action, marking fixed isn't the best idea. We've established "Lame" as a sort of subjective middle ground if contributors believe an article is more invested in fueling fanboy wars versus adding to a broader dialogue.
Because the very *definition* of disappointment requires one has some kind of expectation for it. Concord was hoping to find its own niche in the crowded 'hero shooter' market, with ~8 years of development, $100 million+ funding, and marketable talent behind it, and went belly up in 2 lousy weeks. That's historical for a live-service game.
@babadivad
-"They were complaining about all the zombies having white skin (so the devs are racist)."
Incorrect. That wasn't "they." That was *one* Gamespot critic who reviewed Days Gone. There were other writers, both reviewers and site editors, who also said unfair stuff about Days Gone overall, but you're generalizing to an absurd degree. Painting with such a broad brush is dishonest.
Worth noting that this deal isn't a one-off thing. You can literally keep bundling 3 games together and continue getting the same deal. Absolutely insane deal.
Appreciate the Subside recommendation. I'll have to check that out soon.
-"A first person hero shooter with heavy GaaS elements is a lot different than the multiplayer in Gears of War."
I mean... you're kinda muddying terms when Gears has always had a strong multiplayer component. Even if I grant you that, Cliffy B started cementing himself at Epic with Unreal Tournament, which was among the earliest shooter series to have "proto-GaaS elements" (downloadable maps, cosmetics, special editions that bundle stuff together). ...
