QUESTION:
Assuming you have an american wii, how do you play FF2 Wii Edition (a European copy)? With 4 you could use riivolution since it had a patch but from what i understand riivolution doesnt work with just any game?
Thanks in advance.
The Wii was literally a 6th gen machine released in the 7th gen and it had a relatively long, healthy life. The Xbone is in the same situation to a much, MUCH smaller degree.
MS knows they shouldnt ditch the xbone early and abandon fans and throw the whole console cycle out of loop. They need to turn a profit, why would they jump before they made any money (which took 7 years for the 360, never for the xbox).
Its still fuzzy as to what Nintendo actually owns, we know they have total rights over Spirit Camera but thats all we really know for sure.
The games have surprisingly sold better on nintendo platforms (comparing FFIV's japan sales to the other games' japan sales). Who knows, maybe they're working on FFV right now.
Fatal frame is probably my favorite horror series. Some titles are better than others but the 4 main series games and the remake are all excellent games, and it remains the only classic horror franchise that has absolutely stuck to its guns and adamantly refused to sell out like RE and SH. I look forward to seeing the game in HD, on whatever platform (i think we can all agree that this game is definitely ideal on the Wii U though).
Just because theyre not beating Sony doesnt mean they arent experiencing success. If this game shifts plenty of units and sells some systems, it is a success and MS is happy.
I dont think some people realize that these companies are looking to profit on their hefty investments into the construction and development of their systems, outselling the competition is purely a bragging right to use a bandwagon effect to sell more (successful for the wii and ps2).
i think the wii u will be neck and neck with the xbone like the 6th gen, unless either nintendo or MS find a game that really shifts TONS of units like halo did.
Yeah, i know the wii u has vsync built in so that no game tears, im surprised its not always enabled on xbox one or even ps4 i think.
@deyvan
Because people bitched and whined when they found out it was 720p. I think respawn shouldve stoof their ground on that one, tbh. Most of the people complaining had no interest in the game or the xbone in the first place.
Ironically, top-down zelda 1 is more open world than any other game in the series
Polish up the graphics, add a chapter or two and a zero suit samus costume for bayonetta, lock the framerate at 60 and i'll buy it again.
Not sure what the sudden fuss about resolution is. It would make sense to gloat if titanfall looked better on ps4, but its an exclusive so who cares?
Alan wake ran at 570p i believe, the resolution was closer to that of a wii game than a 360 game, and yet it remained a gorgeous game with impressively large environments and arguably the best lighting effects last gen on a console.
The Last of Us and SM3DW were two of the best looking games i've played, if i didnt know any b...
What? Nothing's too big.
Nintendo almost bought THREE exclusive big RE games (remake, 0 and 4). The only one that got away was 4.
I doubt it would happen but not because it COULDN'T happen.
In response to the gamecube supposedly getting good ports, you sir are wrong. There were tons of games with graphical downgrades, cut content, no online multiplayer (because nintendo didnt support it on a wide scale) and worse resolutions to cram it on that puny 1.4 GB disc. Whether its the third party's fault or nintendo's, weve been getting the short end of the stick since the n64.
Also why would they have to gimp it to make it run on wii u? The wii u is unquestionably more ...
And the 360 is barely 1 million below the ps3 anyway, the difference is negligible. If MS continued to support the 360 that would be nice though.
I think you missed my point. The amount of money to conceptualize, develop games for, and advertise the gamecube and games nintendo made for it was, in the end, eclipsed by profits from the systems and games sold. This was not true for the 360 and PS3 until recently, and the reason last gen was so long was because they were stretching it out to try and make SOME money on their consoles.
Now market share is a huge deal, but as we've seen with the wii and the 360 if youve got the r...
Exactly how ive always felt. These companies dont care about some petty console race, they just want to make a profit. They might toss in some fanboy fodder to keep the fire going, but in the end the gamecube's meager profits after a mere 4 years on the market were much more preferable to the 360 and ps3's failure to make money after almost 6.
Definitely, xbox had like an 11.0 attach ratio and the 360 sold considerably more software than ps3 even with less consoles sold.
I think its because VGchartz is counting pre-orders for titanfall.
I dont think MS really adopted it, the xbox and gamecube controllers were developed side by side most likely.
I know MS were really working with SEGA and the xbox controller basically looks just like the dreamcast with the same button layout, just an extra stick slapped on. Early on they were even including backwards compatibility with the dreamcast on xbox. So i think MS got their controller layout more from SEGA. (Also the 6 button layout is reminiscent of the saturn).
Good grief it felt like i was watching an episode of DBZ with the sequel.
The first game managed to be top dog in terms of horror games for pretty much all of last gen though.
