@Ultr
I fail to see what point youre making by naming franchises from the 6th gen, like i said that's where platformers thrived. R&C is a good example of a modern platformer with a traditional feel, but it was established well before SMG came out. Sly cooper is also kind of tradtional, but i think of it more as a stealth game.
And knack and skylanders are far from platformers. They might have platforming elements but the fact that they aren't in a traditional platf...
I think 2 things led to the death of the hardcore collectathon:
DK64 left a sour taste in people's mouths and was way too heavy on collectables.
Mario Galaxy: I think this game singlehandedly killed the 3D platformer as we knew it, because once you go to space you cant really top yourself. The 6th gen had tons of obscure platformers and platformer series but the 7th had almost none. I think Rare opted for something different with N&B because they felt...
Holy crap, for that i would've bought one just to keep in box and sell for a killing 5-10 years from now.
sakurai did say that the roster may be smaller or equal to brawl's to trim out clones and balance it better.
Really? Man, of all the games to be a timed exclusive. I was looking forward to the wii u version.
Why do people keep saying X is a new IP? Its most likely a new Xeno game
This comment is so damn old.
Pikmin 3 never had a CHANCE to be a system seller. Its an obscure gamecube-exclusive series thats been dormant for almost a decade. The few consoles it did sell came as a surprise. Wonderful 101 is a quirky Platinum Games (never once meets sales expectations) title with absolutely no promotion.
The only games that have EVER come out on wii u with a chance to sell systems were the mario games and maybe Windwaker. And hell, they did! I would say 2/3...
Why would he get fired for saying he doesn't care if it makes a profit? Its not like this is bad publicity or something.
Nah, probably merch related. Renewing it so they can make some money on a T-shirt or something like that.
Because it's a new gen, and this gen it's clear which system is more capable. Last gen it was genuine question because the systems were so close power-wise, there were some better on ps3 most better on 360.
Now it's becoming resolution4G and framerate4g. Now we have websites like digital foundry and lensoftruth soaring in popularity because fanboys are just getting rock hard on seeing one console consistently doing worse. Last gen a game like The Order with a cinematic re...
As does Grasshopper Manufacture.
Thing is Titanfall isnt as experimental or creative as those games, and a lot of people dont like it for whatever reason.
But you know what, if the fact that people are enjoying and purchasing a game he helped make is enough to make him happy, we have no right to say he shouldnt be.
Mario and Luigi: Dream team was another.
It really shouldn't be that hard to market the wii u at this point with all the games announced. Show a kid coming home from school, playing some zelda, maybe hopping on the net browser to find a walkthrough. Then dad comes in wanting to watch the football game and he goes to his room and keeps playing on the gamepad. Then cut to late at night with an adult playing bayonetta 2 or 4 friends playing smash bros together. Then maybe a quick montage showing W101, Zombi U, etc. Cram all that in...
No, almost everywhere is like reverse america. With the exception of the UK and Australia who are sticklers for tits and blood rather than one or the other.
Its hard to pinpoint a renaissance in gaming because whereas art and literature has much less divisive opinions and preferences among its connoisseurs (like no one really looks back on the Renaissance and says, "man that art sucks"). With video games, some like cinematic games, games with deep gameplay, rpgs, etc.
Some might say this gen started a trend where hamfisted cinematics took priority over deep gameplay and progression, whereas some might say that this is the natura...
Tomb raider had all its dlc too, it was just crappy dlc.
I think they should give people who owned the game and/or dlc on ps3 at least a 20 dollar discount. To be honest i'm not a big fan of this because it's just more effort and resources probably being taken from Uncharted 4 for a quick buck. And let's be real, even people who want this must admit it is a cash grab. If they improved the AI and made other improvements beyond aesthetics, i will get this when it's cheap, but im starting to dislike how companies make my less than a ye...
Check out TW101, Zombi U, Monster Hunter 3 U and DKCTF when you get one! Theres a decent library on the system, a lot of people neglect it sadly.
@Heavy
I think yewels means the ps4 version doesnt even have a release date.
Overrall i can see either way why people would or would not want this, i personally feel i'd rather see the resources going into this go into getting Uncharted 4 out faster.
This would be a lot more welcome a year or two from now.
Dream. Come. F***in. True.
I cant wait to see the scares in hd, and on wii u. This better make it outside of japan. Maybe now that xenoblade sold well and Iwata is president of NOA it will make it.
