I just get fatigued. It happens every time i get a new AC. I poured hours and hours into the GC original, skipped Wild World, City Folk i hardly touched, New Leaf i put maybe 20 hours in it. New Horizons definitely held my attention the longest compared to the original, i played it every day for 2 months or so. Haven't touched it since.
I think my issue is that every villager feels the same. In the original every villager felt distinct with distinct lines and traits, so...

Like Alan Wake but for me the combat isn’t good enough and the story feels too exposition-y compared to Control. Control’s combat kept me engaged when the plot couldnt.
It has the Bionis shoulder, a totally new area in an already massive game
The design is pretty neat
I think halo 3 tops it for me. Can't really think of another game that made so many innovations in one installment. With theater mode, forge mode, 4 player co-op campaign. The replayability with the skulls and unlockable armor. It really felt like a next gen game at the time.
Metroid Prime and Jak and Daxter had no loading times in the 6th gen
Yes, it is important to consider this comment in the context of the Japanese market. The switch basically reversed a multi-generational trend of waning console sales in Japan by being a portable home console.
Compared to its predecessor, the only market that the ps4 is still trying to catch up to is the Japanese market.

In 2011?? Naw
Exactly, dumb article. Platinum is very clearly trying to ensure that they never need to be bought by anyone. Their whole Platinum 5 initiative this year is to achieve more autonomy so they can self develop and publish instead of relying on funding from Nintendo, Activision or MS.
It will be interesting to see if the switch has the longevity that the wii didnt.
It depends on how much stock you put in it being basically the first AAA VR game, the first solid VR horror experience, and it being the beginning of RE returning to the more old school nonlinear gameplay.
The game was good, my problem is that just when it starts to border on more than good, it ditches that metroid-y design that made the older games so satisfying to figure out. Also, the puzzles and enemies suck compared to the classic RE's.
I would a...
I'm glad that there's a studio carrying the torch for this type of game. Don't really see it often anymore
I assumed it was a generic third person cover shooter for a long time, something i think a lot of people do. Campaign wise it kind of is.
But Gears multiplayer is one of the sweatiest, most skill intensive shooters ive played. It has all sorts of movement quirks and a sandbox of techniques to spice up the shotgun based gameplay. It kind of relegates the series to a niche of ppl willing to understand how they got killed by a wrap around shotgun blast behind cover. But it re...
Fatal frame is probably one of the most under-utilized tools in Nintendo's repertoire. Ever since PT people have been dying for a old-school style survival horror game, with recent RE's filling the void to some extent.
But the Fatal Frame games are genuinely terrifying and could fill that void easily, and the gap in the Switch's library that is horror games. Imagine if Fatal Frame was finally given an actual budget with a sizable team and good marketing. It wou...
Interesting how the 7th gen is outsold but not even close to outpaced.
One of the most underrated games from last gen. It sounds like a lot of what annoyed me in the original is gone. If you like Bayonetta or DMC this is a must play.
Ninja Theory has stated that Bleeding Edge was a game they were working on well before the MS acquisition. It wouldn't make sense for MS to scrap the game that was that far along.
It was only 2 years ago that a MS owned studio released a new IP - Sea of Thieves - that proved successful. Then Rare announced yet another new IP, Everwild, last year. I would bet that new IP's will be a more frequent sight in the coming years for Xbox.
It looks to take heavy inspiration from H. R. Giger, who is best known for doing the art for the Alien movies.
I might be unpopular here, but I think its safe to say the “generational” model is antiquated. The X and pro are what, intergenerational upgrades? What if there comes a time where the One X is getting Series X games while the original One doesn’t? If the switch represents the beginning of the 9th gen then that means
8th gen 2012-2020
9th gen 2017-20??
So generations can overlap? I guess they technically did in the past with the Dreamcast.
I hope the game has a decent level of polish. His early games were polished enough, but oftentimes the budget shows.
