Me and my friends like to drink beer and play Smash and Mario Kart. I have to assume we arent the only ones.

But they won't sit on that money forever, it will go towards more development, more studios, pay raises and bonuses. Besides, that's just for big studios, it is evident that indie studios in particular will benefit from this more than anyone.

In the 360 days, it flopped in Japan, but the console has a large amount of Japanese exclusives from small studios. Mostly shmups and visual novels. The reason business was sustainable and even attra...

Yeah, I've been watching my friend play Prey on a Series S and it's like night and day compared to my One X

Thats the one im least worried about. Bayonetta 3 was announced at the beginning of its development and Kamiya has been assuring us that development is going well, they just arent ready to show much. Platinum cranks games out without issue, historically.

Meanwhile Prime 4 was rebuilt completely midway through development and Retro isn’t known for their speedy development. Game will be great though

The millions in R&D already done going back to likely 2017 to conceptualize this purported Switch Pro = they have to put something on the market ASAP.

He is. Yes i know there is a plot twist, but just because Comstock is Booker doesn’t make him a compelling villain.

The problem with the twist redeeming the game is that the twist falls apart under its own logic. Why does killing Booker in this one instance kill off Comstock in all the other timelines?

I finished the game and initially liked the story as a whole, but the more i thought about it the less sense it made. Eve...

I’m part of the school that thinks this game is not all its cracked up to be. I think its degenerative in terms of gameplay, fewer choices both in terms of narrative and in the gameplay loop. The shooting and encounters just dont feel satisfying, and thats 90% of what youre doing.

It lacks a great character like andrew ryan, Comstock is a generic villain without much personality. Elizabeth has an interesting backstory, but is just made to be likeable, which isnt interesting...

I imagine the cheap entry point for the Series S combined with Game Pass makes the console very appealing to hardcore gamers without much in the way of disposable income.

I think many of us in the US and Europe scoff at the Series S and wonder its purpose - this might be it.

I love the idea of the Dark Pictures games, but they don't seem sustainable to me financially.

And even though i like Supermassive, they don't fill a hole for Sony as a publisher.

@september

Your timeline sounds correct, but if you go on the Wii right now, you can't even connect to the Wii Shop, nonetheless redownload previous purchases. The Wii U shop is still up oddly enough.

I don't think they will. They've said they're trying to extend the life of the switch beyond their traditional lifespan for consoles. It'd be hard for them to build a 70-100 million unit install base and then just start from scratch after 5 years. I see them making a beefier switch model that will run the same games at better specs and them giving the switch a 7 year lifespan (March 2017 - November 2023) before launching their next endeavour.

Probably the best thing about the Wii U and the reason i keep mine hooked up is the retro compatibility. You have access to everything on the Wii U eshop, which comes complete with button remapping and suspend points. Then you have the 3-4x larger virtual console on the wii. Then you can play Wii games themselves, and if you mod it you can play gamecube games with 100% compatibility.

One X was the only last gen console that was acceptable.

The map was confusing, but I enjoyed getting lost in a game for once.

So not saying the first two games are on a Deus Ex level, but the combat was 5x less repetitive to Infinite for me. In Bioshock you could tailor your build to be plasmid or weapon, or melee or hacking. You had actual moral choices to make that actually impacted the game (especially in 2). The second game in general has really fun combat, even if the story is lacking.

I never felt those games went as far as they could, but Infinite definitely doesnt. Two weapon limit, no cho...

I think the game looks good enough, but I've never played a Bloober game and left 100% satisfied. They make well written and incredible atmospheres, but the gameplay and level design is always lacking. This game doesn't look much different.

Lately Nintendo's MO has been to announce games within months of release. See: Paper Mario and Pikmin 3 deluxe, the Mario collection + 3D world. Astral Chain was announced within 5 months or so.

I think it's possible Astral Chain and the ports of Bayo 1 and 2 were given priority over Bayo 3 from Nintendo as publisher so they had a new IP to point to and so Platinum could get a handle on the hardware.

Perhaps they didn't go this route because they realized how far behind they were on that front. They'd have a lot of progress to make. Maybe even include folders in your UI lmao.

I remember all of these mock-ups leaking. I remember me and many others thinking that a hybrid console/handheld wasn't feasible at all. All things considered, the Switch is a pretty cool piece of tech.

The devs were openly going for the cinematic shooter style that was popular in the years this was developed. COD-like Doom was pretty much the pitch.

Spiderman and Control are both great looking games but i'd be hard pressed to say which is more technically advanced. The amt of reflective surfaces combined with the destruction and effects on display in Control is very demanding on the hardware. That's why its considered a benchmark for raytracing on PC
