what'd you love about it? the 4 minute vehicle scene? the 6 boring minutes of throwing frisbees? or was it the 90 minutes of mind-numbing dialogue?
as for this being an mmo, i guess anything could be re-imagined as an MMO, but i think Tron is far too shallow to carry a community.
i think gears of war would make for a great mmo...as long as the ground combat stayed basically the same. if they incorporated too many RPG-ish elements, it would be all wron...
why won earth would anyone be interested in reliving one of the most painful scenes in all of cinema. pod racing is the quidditch of the starwars films.
actually, solidworm's comment was trolling. but since it was anti-360, he gets a pass. the response from sub4dis, as he stated, was related to the troll's avatar.
solidworm is perfectly willing to criticize a game he's never played for a system he doesn't even own (he's a known sony troll - hence the 1 bubble), but he'll champion a game like killzone enough to have an avatar for it.
so sub4dis's comment was actually retaliatory a...
The price hike argument is slightly flawed. you see, the reason costs have gone up so much over previous generations is because every game now is fully motion captured, heavily voiced by many actors, etc.. it's not cuz the graphics and physics have gotten better. the cost of that tech comes down as time passes. games cost more now because we now get AAA titles trying to get sales in the many millions. gaming is mainstream now.
the production costs might go up slightly,...
here's my observation about the difference between the sony and ms community.
the other day there was an xbox site that said uncharted 3 looks like a great game and they couldn't figure out why the pre-orders were low. the sony fanboy response to this: "they just want hits."
notice there are hardly any MS fanboys saying that about this article which is coming from a ps3 site.
as for the difference between exclusives...well...
one time investment in learning how to us a PC and your gaming experience is enriched for life. this "i don't have time" excuse is such obvious BS. you're a "gamer" so you've got some time. it's not like it's difficult to operate a computer. or learning how to install a new video card is time consuming. it's practically plug-n-play.
and like someone said above...pc gaming actually has a better long-term pay off. if you don'...
i agree, we always hear promises about the next generation that never happen.
i, personally, want the next generation to focus on AI and destructibility. i love the idea of each npc having its own set of behaviors. hope it comes true.
I'd like to see a new Jumping Flash. :-P
anyone remember Kileak?
But I definitely see sony waiting to release a new system the longest. Have they even become profitable this generation? I know Microsoft finally became profitable a couple years ago. I really have a tough time seeing Sony justifying a new generation until they absolutely have to to stay competitive.
i just wanna know one thing. what is propelling that plane?
i don't know which game is technically more impressive...but i agree with phear...i liked the look of UC2 better.
if uncharted were a movie or tv show, i would think that they got a new actor to play sully. he doesn't look anything like he used to. i'm pretty disappointed in how he looks now.
propagating fire would be a nice addition.
quality sequels can't be churned out every 1-2 years. that's why COD never makes any progress. in fact, by PC standards a decade ago...COD2 was the only true sequel..the rest were just expansion packs. new engine = sequel, same engine = expansion or mod.
look at the Half-Life series.
if sheeple were wise consumers and not complete corporate tools, they'd focus more attention on PC gaming and developers would go back to proper game-making and community support.
it's the fault of the consumer...
well obviously the people that only played one should stay out of it. unfortunately, that's not at all the way it works on n4g. the most ignorant are always the loudest.
they do play similarly. what are you talking about? i am really really good at uncharted (almost always the top guy) and i owe that to the time i spent playing gears 1. people saying they are so different are probably the people i see standing still or just camping behind cover waiting to get pwned. they have a different art style, and uncharted lets you climb walls, but 90% of the combat is very similar. except that gears has unusual, unique weapons (i.e. the digger launcher) and unchar...
uh, except that he can't climb almost anything that looks climbable. he has to climb very specific spots that were placed by the programmers...not saying if this is a good or bad thing...but it's nothing like how you describe. what you are describing is more like assassin's creed.
really? you think I should have my head checked if didn't think the cliche story, characters, and one-liners from Uncharted weren't very good? sorry, i don't agree with you at all. uncharted 2 is fun, i enjoyed it, but it's not at all original or memorable.
i think people that still think these live-action disney stories are something special should "have their heads examined."
it's quite possibly the most overrated franchis...
sorry alpha...that's only clear if you're a one console clown. i own both, like both, like gears better. i'll be buying both games, but a year from now, it's likely i (along with 90% of the UC3 early adopters) will have forgotten all about UC multiplayer. however, i'll probably be playing gears 3 til this generation of hardware is last-gen. and this is coming from a guy who played way WAY more uncharted 2 MP than Gears 2 MP. gears 3 beta was simply a blast. and the w...
eh, not good enough. i'll stick with amazon or gamestop.
