35 gb of data on blu-ray implies that the content is uncompressed.
What no one has considered so far, is that this 35 gb of content will need to be streamed from the blu-ray drive at 2x speed.
The blu-ray drive can be slower, or faster, than a 12x DVD, depending on the position of data on the dvd disc.
Overall, the blu-ray may be considered to be slower in everyday use.
Thus, 35 gb of data, on an overall slower blu-ray drive, will be painfully SLOW...
I agree.
The guy is supposed to be at an emotional crossroads. Writer's block, insomnia and relocation all point to an emotional crisis.
I have to say, the second picture looks more realistic.
Dark circles under the eyes, gaunt, troubled, edgy.
I'd say they nailed it!
5:1?
Wow, big call.
I doubt whether this will happen though.
I estimate it will be 3:1.
There can be no doubt that 360 Natal has innovative features not available on he ps3 arc, thus providing a unique user experience.
Couple this with the fact that Natal has a HUGE amount of support and marketing behind it and it is not hard to imagine NATAL outselling the arc by a very large margin.
On a more common sense note, let's face it, casual g...
well spotted Soda.
It seems some fanboys are so overzealous that the ps3 games that score 88 on metacritic exist only on ps3, but are decreed to be better than the best game ever made on any platform and only on ps3!
wtf?
It only does contradictions!
Gamespot. yes, you are right there.
However, 88 on metacritic is most definitely not AAA.
Don't fret, though, AA is still very good!
@ saberedge
Absolutely!
Dude, NO one could have said it better than that.
The ps3 is about on par with the 360.
Unfortunately, there exists this herd of PS3 fanboys on n4g who simply cannot allow this truth to be known.
The 360 has some great exclusives, and so has the ps3.
Arguably the ps3 has two unmatched exclusives in the form of uc2 and kz2. However, for very one of those, there are 20 inferior ps3 multiplats, too.

Yeah, you said it.
Although, the original space trading game was ELITE - not privateer.
Oh boy, when I was a kid, I spent hundreds of hours on C64 elite kitting out my cobra with military lasers, fuel scoop, landing computer, and trying to find those special missions...
.. those were the days.
I have to say I recently enjoyed 'x3: reunion'.
If you haven't played that series, yet, give it a whirl. It's cheap on steam.
I just love these ...
576p?
jaggy?
Surely you don't mean ps3 tekken6?
That's an interesting question, DOM.
If MS owned Epic, I would imagine they would have the *ability* to stop UE3 on ps3. Whether or not they would actually do that is another question.
Each time they licensed the UE3 to Sony, they would collect a royalty from Sony.
In a weird kind of way then, Sony's success would line MS pockets.
Realistically, however, the UE3 is rather dated now. New, superior engines are bound to crop up. eg: cryengine3.
Aha, a new article about natal, highlighting some cool new features!
Sadly, it won't be long before the usual ps3 trolls show up to talk trash and make negative eye toy comparisons. They seem to have a nose for this sort of thing and can't wait until ...
.. oh wait.
They're already here.
@ patb
I applaud your steadfast resilience to the outside influence of detractors and naysayers.
If Heavy Rain is what you like, regardless of all other opinions, then good for you, friend.
However, reviews provide a vital yardstick to all of us gamers who are unable to buy/rent/try-out all games. Reviews definitely have their place and especially an aggregate score site, like metacritic, is an invaluable guide to the collective opinions of a great many people....
@ cold2000
Dude, you are spot on.
Don't listen to anyone who tries to disparage or downplay your post, or the link you supplied.
The info in your post is spot on and the link you provided is accurately quoting Sony's very own financial reports.
I made exactly the same observation, where it shows that the ps2 is heavily in decline and the PS3 NPS division is mainly propped up by gains in VAIO hardware and VAIO software profitability.
Can Natal win the console war?
Well, it probably won't beat the wii, but it sure as heck has a fabulous chance of keeping the ps3 in third place.
Let's face it, the ps3 is a hardcore gamer platform, as is the 360.
Both MS and Sony have had to acknowledge that the 'casual' market of the wii is, as yet, relatively untapped and lucrative.
Thus, for both Sony and MS, the battle is on for the casual market.
Going by what I have seen of Nata...
next up:
Heavy Rain gets exploding batteries.
@ strikepackagebravo
Completely agree, dude, well said.
It is entirely silly to think SOny had the productive capacity to produce enough stock to sell 1.36 million in december 09, yet in Jan 10 they are unable to meet demand, even when demand has FALLEN by over 1 million units?
Fact is, Sony is losing money on every sale of its ps3 skus.
They produce only barely enough at any one time to meet demand, to minimise cost.
If they have stock sitt...
The information on which this article is based is false.
It has been removed by MazingerDUDE:
"I have removed the 'ground texture' shots, since it's rather premature to determine a difference in texture fidelity between two versions with whatever limited information available at the moment, especially on 360's side. I'll probably do some in depth comparison upon the game's release."

@ AM
why is the arcade useless?
It plays every 360 game out there.
It also plays Bayonetta rather well, wouldn't you agree?
